Jake the Snake BB questions?

So I bought a new Jake the Snake frameset, and got a BB30 crankset for it. The guys at the shop I'm taking it to get put together said that it needs an adapter because the shell looks big, but I called Kona and they said that the BB30 should pop right in? The guys at the shop are usually really good about putting stuff together for me, but in this instance I'm feeling a little weary because they don't seem to be taking my question seriously. Anyone have any experience building this frame up from scratch?
This is it:

The cranks is a FSA Gossamer CT BB30 compact crank..

Any ideas?

I don't have any direct experience with the JtS, but it sounds like it has a Press-Fit 30 bottom bracket, not BB30. The Kona web site is a bit ambiguous on this point, as it says the bike has a "Press Fit BB30" bottom bracket. If a standard BB30 doesn't fit, that's pretty good evidence as to what's really going on. The BB30 standard calls for a 42mm bottom bracket shell. The PF30 standard calls for a 46mm bottom bracket shell.

Ah...I see. I wish I would have know that before I bought it. I would have purchased the right crankset for it. Thanks for clarifying

I just got a 2013 Jake the Snake, and my BB30 wouldnt work. Needs a press fit. Its all cheap though, esp compared to the costof the frameset.
