Leyzne Cadence not pairing issue

I have a new Leyzne Super GPS and a Leyzne speed and cadence sensor, also new. The GPS syncs with the phone perfectly. However, I can't get it to recognize the speed/cadence sensor. I have changed out the batteries to no avail. Are there any tricks to this or is my sensor defective?

There was a plastic cover on my battery when I got mine. It was a little hard to get off, but you tried new batteries... Did make sure you arepairing with Bluetooth option and with speed/cadence sensor? You might be able to try and pair the sensor with some phone app to test it out as well.

I checked this. I'm fairly savvy with tech gear so at this point my sensor is bad or it's so obvious an issue I can't see it.

just got a macro gps and made the mistake of pairing the speed sensor first. Had to disconnect it and then pair with the cadence+speed sensor to get both. Something to check -- only have to pair the combo sensor; pairing it with one or the other will get in the way. To rephrase: if you paired the gps with your sensor as the speed or cadence by itself, it won't pair as the combo. And in the 'is it plugged in' category -- spin the pedals to wake up the sensor? --Does the sensor pair with strava or mapmyride etc?
