It has built in gps speed, no sensor required. Use mine all the time.

Did some digging around and been getting conflicting answers regarding being able to use the speed sensor with the Edge 20.....I guess I'll find out for sure tomorrow when the sensors show up.

Received the sensors and its a no go with the Edge 20.....what a PITA, initially spoke to Garmin and they said the speed sensors work with all Edge products, wanted to confirm so I asked several LBS and two said no and one said yes, so I spoke with Garmin again and they said no.....so I tried for my self and got my answer.....exchanged the Edge 20 for 25 model.

Got the Edge 25 installed on the wife and mine bike's.....syncs up great, easy to read and simple to use. perfect for my needs.

Has anyone had any issues with the rubber bands breaking after a period of time? they seem pretty sturdy, nice they give you a second set with the kit. Was looking at the out in front mount, may go that route if the rubber bands give issues, although they seem fairly heavy duty and don't expect issues.

I didn't trust those rubber straps....I would hate to lose my cadence sensor so.....
I use a zip tie to attach the sensor to my crank arm. I use a small piece of rubber inner tube under the sensor and use a med size zip tie to attach the sensor. Works very well for me

I have the speed sensor and the strap seem fairly stout, not so much on the Edge 25 but at least there are two on the edge and the chances of both failing at the same time are slim I think.....will keep an eye on both.....
