Speed/cadence tracker for back mount trainer?

Hi! I have a back wheel mounted trainer (CyclOps Fluid) and I'd like to get something that will ideally help me track speed and cadence. Speed because then I can put it in my FitBit, and cadence because I think that's probably a good measurement to have too (I'm big on quantitative measurements).

The choices on Amazon are overwhelming and some seem unable to be used on a back wheel.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

Not sure how you will be able to get your Fitbit to receive speed as I don't recall any model being able to connect to sensors...

But that aside, didn't you ask something similar a while back?

You can enter biking manually into a FitBit but you have to know the speed and how long you rode.

Apparently, I did just ask this and now I feel silly.

I also just set up the trainer today, so I have no idea if that was just wishful thinking or what. Now I feel like I'm slightly crazy. Whoops.

You can get a dual band speed/cadence sensor, like the Wahoo BlueSC, and connect it to a cycling app on your phone that supports Bluetooth LE sensors. A good free app for what you want to do is the Wahoo Fitness app. Most other cycling apps charge for the ability to connect to sensors. Since your rides will always be indoors, you really don't care about GPS tracking and really don't need to pay for that service, either.

Bikes: yes

Wahoo or garmin both make good magnet-less speed and cadence sensors.

https://www.amazon.com/Wahoo-Cadence...ce+bike+sensor is what you want. They are two individual sensors that are easily swapped between bikes, shoes, wheels, whatever. They work with both Bluetooth and ANT+, and don't require magnets. ANT+ is the only protocol to use if you have multiple devices reading them, say a bike computer and a desktop, which is my setup. On the desktop there are lots of training apps that will read them, except a lot of them are paid apps. Zwift seems to be the most popular and I use it, but prefer The Sufferfest for better training routines. You will also need a USB dongle for ANT+. Just search on Amazon and these come up.

There are also cheaper versions of the sensors, but they aren't that much cheaper and I can't vouch for them.
