Question Indoor cycling training software

Hi all,
I am looking for MAC OS compatible software that can receive data via bluetooth and ANT+ for my indoor cycling sessions.
I have used Trainer Road before, but since I am following my own program, I don't really need the full Trainer Road software and I just need a way to see the data that my devices are sending. I used to get by with the WAHOO fitness app on my iphone which works over a bluetooth connection to pair with my WAHOO speed and cadence sensors, BUT since my Garmin HRM is an old one and only transmits via ANT+, I am now looking for a desktop application. I already have the ANT+ dongle attached to my Macbook.
If there are apps like Trainer Road that are free or cheaper with just the functionality I need, then that would be perfect.
Thanks in advance.

Have you tried Golden Cheetah? It's open source, and very comprehensive - there's a lot of features, but needs some time to get used to.

I think GC is your best bet. I need to update it to see if it controls my trainer better now. Had some problems before. But I never had any problems with it capturing ant+ data

I wouldn't say GC is best as a controller, but it does work. It's cheaper than anything else, that's for sure. It was originally intended as an analysis tool, so that's probably what it does best.

I use trainerroad, and now that my season has started I just select individual rides that fit my circumstances best. I guess you can't make up your own training plan, but it's pretty nice for tracking your fitness and controlling the trainer. They just put out a big update that makes it more competitive with training software like GC.

Perfpro studio would be cheaper than trainerroad after 2 years, but I'm not sure how well it works on parallels. It's a windows program.

The nice thing about trainerroad is that it works on tablets/phones. I use it on my amazon tablet. I would hate to have to drag a computer into the basement.
