I have a cateye strada dual computer, it measure speed and cadence. I'm toying with the idea of connecting it to my galaxy s9 to see how it works. I've tried using the wahoo and cateye app. It wont pair with either. Could anyone shed some light for me?

If the sensor is blue tooth/ant+ it should pair with your phone via the app. I think your sensor transmits to the head unit via a radio frequency and so will not pair with your phone. It's very possible I'm wrong though. I would shoot an email to cateye support if someone more knowledgeable than I doesn't respond to your query. Good lucl.

If your bike computer isn't a smart Strada smart, I'm not sure it can pair with your cell phone. I think it has to be designated as a smart strada to do that. I'd check the online manual. According to Cateye's website, the only model they make that can connect with a smart phone is the Padrone Smart and the Padrone Smart +. If you're asking whether the sensor itself can pair with your smartphone, as long as the sensor sends is bluetooth/or ANT+, and if your phone can receive ANT+ signals, then it should work.

Check in settings on your phone to see if the ANT+ is turned on.

Ok, I've done a little research. If you have the ISC-10 sensor, it is neither ANT+ nor Bluetooth. It is called a 2.4 GHz digital ISCTec sensor, and will only pair with Cateye bike computers. Cateye makes 2 other sensors, the ISC-11, which is ANT+, and the ISC-12, which is Bluetooth. I'm not sure either of these will pair with your head unit. Maybe check on Cateye's website and check on compatibility. If your Strada is designated as a smart model, then either of these 2 sensors may be compatible.

Thanks for the help guys, I'll try to verify which sensor I have. I have the dumb strada. Works great, just wish I'd done a little more research before I'd bought it though.

Looks like I have the isc 10. Guess I'll do more research on gps bike computers and upgrade later. I appreciate all the help.
