Is there any cyclo-computer which used AAA for power, instead of freaken button battery? I'm looking for simple, wired and want to use rechargeable battery.

Why the aversion to the button battery? They last for many months on a wired computer. I have one That's almost two years old and it still works. Wired computers don't use very much power.

AAA rechargeable cells would require more frequent replacement/charging unless you used a low self discharge cell such as Sanyo Eneloops. Also the computer body would be way too big for most folks. Current draw is in the same range as a watch so button cells are the most compact and logical solution.

The last bike computer I had that used AAA was a Cateye from the 1980's..

Thanks folks, simple I don't like buy new battery all the time and try use rechargeable AAA & AA on all gadgets. But in nowadays looks like we do not have a lot of choice for bike. Two days ago bought Trek PDX and looking for computer now, have offer: SIGMA BC1106 for $29, any opinion on that?

Something you can do is to solder in a two cell holder in pace of the coin cell. I used a double AAA holder from Radio Shack. The biggest thing is to make sure that you do not place the + and - wires on the wrong pieces of metal. I find that the coin cells last about 1 year on average and the correct sizedifficult to find overseas. AAA are available almost everywhere and are easier to find.
I did it about a year ago on one of my bikes and so far it had held through rain and shine.

Hm..m, this is a good idea make the base with power supply, will thinking about when my computer come. I bought SIGMA BC1609 for $38 incl shipment on Amazon.
