Have a question about a cycle computer
My wife got me a Bell 300 computer for xmas and i was wondering if anyone has tried to hook it up to the rear wheel insead of the front wheel like the directions say . I wanna be able to keep track of my distance while on a trainer.

The sensors are designed to have just enough transmit power to cover the distance from the fork to the handlebars. Seatstay/chainstay mounting usually puts the sensor too far away to be reliable, but there's a chance it will work fine. Zip-ties are cheap ... I'd just try it and see what happens.

Thats what i thought , so I tried it on the rear , it didn't work . I swapped it to the front , still didn't work. I checked battery voltage , was good so this thing is going back. I found a Blackburn one that says its trainer compatible .

I had used two computers on my trainer/rain bicycle. One was connected to the front wheel and recorded all my road miles. The rear mounted sending unit send the data to the receiving computer that was mounted to my CycleOps Trainer.
That way... the front mount computer ONLY recorded road miles and the rear-trainer mounted unit could ONLY record trainer miles.... and it was all automatic with no effort or remembering on my part.

I was gonna say that if the Bell computer worked on the front, you could just relocate the dash part to the rear somewhere so it reads. You might not be able to see current numbers while training, but it will still keep track of your mileage and stuff.
