physical therapy, glad for it!
I have fought tension headaches for years, just recently stopped two rides with very bad neck pain.
My doctor sent to physical therapy, they worked on back and shoulder to support my neck, and wow, it worked wonderfully.
I went out 4 times this week with no headache or neck pain.
I still have a bit of gas every now and then, but that will not keep me of my bike!

Glad to know you're finally getting some relief.

Yeah I did the bone spur surgery on the side of my big toe, Therapy was recommended, I did It myself but didn't follow through because It hurt. Ok I know I was being a wimp. After about six months I did not like the range of movement I had so I started over, manned up and took the pain...
Did It every day for a month, I got all my flexibility back and more,,I did the other foot right along with that one.
Next time I'll take the Doctors advice I think..
As for the gas,,yeah I fart often when I stand up and pedal hard to climb a steep section
That means my engine is working fine ~~

In photography "GAS" refers to "Gear Acquisition Syndrome". Is that what you mean?

I would confirm with doctor, pt you are ready for this, but this has been my go to for years to prevent aches and pains. 'Richard Hittleman's Yoga 28 Day Exercise Plan' I do the whole plan when I've 'fallen off the wagon', but typically just rotate through the 3 daily routines at the end. I'm on my third copy. It's a small handbook, and over years of use the pages start to fall out. I believe it's still in print ,original copyright is like 1969. I got my latest copy at second hand store for a couple of bucks. Hope you continue to feel well.

I'm glad for it too!
2011 - Developed condromalacia in both knees, which made pedaling, climbing and descending stairs painful.
A few weeks of PT appointments later, I was prescribed three 45 minute sessions per week of "homework". Those exercises built up the leg and hip muscles to support the patella as intended. Within a few months, the pain was gone, never to return. As a bonus I felt much stronger on the bike.
2013 - An old C7 fracture was rearing it's ugly head causing shoulder pain and arm numbness.
Once again lengthy exercises were prescribed, and once again the problem vanished in a few months.
I still do some of the exercises from both issue for maintenance as needed.
Discipline to keep up with the prescribed exercises was not a problem for me due to having pain as a motivator.

Thank you, everyone, for sharing your stories. These are helpful to me, because our younger son is currently studying to be a DPT. So far he seems delighted with school and with the art and science of practicing medicine, and we are pleased that he seems to found a good career direction for himself.

Various exercises and stretching keeps me going with, mostly, tolerable aches and pains. The answer, for me anyway, is to maintain a steady regimen to those exercises. The exercises have to be ones that will be maintained or they won't work.

I have an original copy of this; when I was a child, and diagnosed with serious asthma/allergies, parents bought this book, and we went through it, as a family (it was years before I realized it was primarily for my benefit, it was just fun family time to me).
