What was the name of the laundry soap that had towels packed inside? Was it Breeze?

My mother made us carry them to the pool because my sister and I were always losing her good ones. These things were so thin you needed 2-3 just to get dry

Out of the night, when the full moon is bright...

Strange visitor from another planet, with powers far beyond those of mortal men...
Who can change the course of mighty rivers, bend steel in his bare hands...

I got a gang, you got a gang, everybody's got to have a gang

I loved the Burma Shave signs along the highway. My sister and I were always looking for them. We could read them when daddy was driving but when mother was driving they went by so fast you couldn't read all of them

It just dawned on me........there aren't any gasoline commercials anymore. What happened to them??
Is the need to advertise gone or have they been banned like tobacco, liquor, etc??

Your hooked on gas.....Most people shop for price today.......the full service station is dead so why spend the money on advertising. Instead you donate to campaign funds......

I have only filled my tank once this year (January) and the gauge is still above 3/4.........I'm not hooked on gas. I don't even know, or care, what the price per gallon is today or will be. I did fill my gallon container for the lawn mower 2 weeks ago. I don't contibrute to any campaign........I don't even buy girl scout cookies. I thought some of the gasoline commercials were kinda clever.......like the older Exxon's Tiger in your tank ads.....even gave away tiger tails to attach to your gas cap.......or like some of the recent soft drink commercials. I think the Pepsi ad with the dog eating the hambuger and then retrieving and placing the cat on table to get balmed for it is very clever and humorous. "Madison Avenue" advertisering firms have some very talented people now. Like it or not, gasoline and petrolium based products/byproducts will continue to propel our economy for a long long time.
Retirement is great....I highly recommend it!!!

I envy you for that situation. I did not mean to imply that you personally were hooked on gas but rather the we are hooked. I still find it necessary to commute 33 miles one way to work each day and I'm no longer sure what brand of gasoline is sold at my filling points.

From: The Alta Loma area of Rancho Cucamonga. About 45 miles east of Los Angeles, California. Uphill, downhill and across hill riding; not too level!
Keep movin', movin', movin',
Though they're disapprovin',
Keep them doggies movin' Rawhide!
Don't try to understand 'em,
Just rope and throw and grab 'em,
Soon we'll be living high and wide.
Boy my heart's calculatin'
My true love will be waitin', be waiting at the end of my ride.

Move 'em on, head 'em up,
Head 'em up, move 'em out,
Move 'em on, head 'em out Rawhide!
Set 'em out, ride 'em in
Ride 'em in, let 'em out,
Cut 'em out, ride 'em in Rawhide.

Full Lyrics

Rollin', rollin', rollin'
Rollin', rollin', rollin'
Rollin', rollin', rollin'
Rollin', rollin', rollin'
Rawhide!

Rollin', rollin', rollin'
Though the streams are swollen
Keep them dogies rollin'
Rawhide!
Rain and wind and weather
Hell-bent for leather
Wishin' my gal was by my side.
All the things I'm missin',
Good vittles, love, and kissin',
Are waiting at the end of my ride

CHORUS
Move 'em on, head 'em up
Head 'em up, move 'em on
Move 'em on, head 'em up
Rawhide
Count 'em out, ride 'em in,
Ride 'em in, count 'em out,
Count 'em out, ride 'em in
Rawhide!

Keep movin', movin', movin'
Though they're disapprovin'
Keep them dogies movin'
Rawhide!
Don't try to understand 'em
Just rope, throw, and brand 'em
Soon we'll be living high and wide.
My hearts calculatin'
My true love will be waitin',
Be waitin' at the end of my ride.

Rawhide!
Rawhide!

From: Detroit 'burbs, east side.

Bikes: '04 Giant OCR2, DIY light tourer built on on Scattante cross frame, '87 Schwinn World Sport F/G conversion, '85 Schwinn Super Le Tour

"It's not that I don't trust you, William Tell;
It's just I have these Cheerios to sell.
They're round as they can be
like little 'O's, you see.
Don't aim that bow at me, William Tell!"

(I have searched in vain for the rest of the poem)
