Checking out for a while...
Because I am currently dealing with some personal issues which are overwhelming, make me very sad and angry at the same time, which affect my ability to be positive and/or upbeat, I'm going to check out for a while from the 50+ forum. Things which I have worked very long and hard to improve, although I can only influence them indirectly, are actually getting worse than ever.
I'll keep riding when I can and hope to be back soon. It's just hard to take pleasure in something, when all of this "stuff" continues to deteriorate, with no end in sight. At least, no satisfactory end. Thanks for listening.

I was trying to think of something positive to say, but it's not easy with personal issues. We do understand, so go take care of business and we'll all be here when you get back.

They may deteriorate, but something better will come out of them. Been there done that, I guess it's just part of life. I hope everything comes together for you Gary. I know for one, I'll miss you, thanks for a good time and good luck. Hope to hear from you soon.

I certainly understand how personal problems can get us down. Remember we're pretty good listeners here. Hope things improve quickly and you're back soon.

DG, you are always welcome. You don't have to be positive. Infact, if you lurk, some of the energy here may rub off. Feel free to come grouse, or just get a bike fix. If we can help, let us know.

I've been in chemical manufacturing most of my working life and am now in recycling. I've always said I'd rather deal with broken equipment than people problems. Problems with malfunctioning pumps, valves, boilers, gearboxes etc. can be diagnosed. Parts can be obtained. Repairs can be effected, and life is good all over again. This aint necessarily so with people/personal problems.
I wish you well as you deal with this and hope the resolution will come sooner than later. We'll miss you and look forward to your return

All kidding aside, I am thinking and sending good thoughts your way. Keep in there, and don't hesitate to share the negatives as well as the positives. Believe me when I say most of us have had a good share of negatives in our lives, and we will be understanding and sympathetic, and maybe even have some good advice or input.
Hang in there, my friend!

When I was younger, I envisioned that I would have a lot more control over the things that affect me when I was older and had better finances. But no, that hasn't been the case at all. As far as my family goes, I think I have less control than ever. Not that I need to control things, but I sure would like to be able to do more to improve certain situations.

Sending good thoughts your way, Digital Gee. Just remember that life hasn't always felt so bad as it does now, and that it won't feel so bad forever.

Sorry to hear that these issues are interfering with your BF adventures. I'll miss your snark and white bike defenses. Guess I better prepare to stand strong for both of us.
Hope you resolve things soon and get back to your regular-posting and riding self.

remember everyday is a great day, and no matter what comes your way or what influences your life good or bad ; perseverance always pays off. A positive mind-set will always get you through.
