Her skirt isn't short enough?

It's not well known that after Spitz retired from swimming, he took up competitive cycling and had some success. As a matter of fact, he was one of the domestiques who helped Greg Lemond win his first TDF in 1986. What a guy! Remember, you read it here on the Internet so it must be true!

Fixie bike depends on riders feet clipped in to brake, he's not clipped with the straps. No front brake. No hands. Not watching where he's going. Using a cell phone. No helmet. Right pant leg not rolled up or strapped to prevent pant leg getting tangled in chain and chain ring. 1970's hair and suit. Obviously not a 50+ rider (at the time photo was taken) so this thread should have been in the commuter forum.

He looks a bit like Borat to me.
But give the guy a break. Maybe he has carpal tunnel syndrome and can't put any weight on his hands.

I'm not sure you can say that's wrong; the helmet is to protect the brain, and based on everything else that's wrong, I'm not so sure he has one to protect. The same logic would also apply to his girlfriend...

Never had that thought come into my head when trying to convince a rider to wear a helmet.

My favorite line for riders who show up helmetless at club rides is "you should only wear a helmet if you have a brain to protect".

Well you can go to Holland and China and try telling that to the millions of helmetless cyclists there. I'd think you'd be laughed back onto the plane home.

Should everyone wear a helmet when they're riding a bike? My reaction would be that the decision should be left to the individual (at least for adults). I've made my decision; I put the helmet on whenever I get on my bike (or, more accurately, trike). Your decision is just that - yours to make, not mine.

No one seems to have noticed that he is pedaling the bike backwards against the flow of traffic. Notice that his left foot is bent as though he is putting pressure on the pedal, while his right foot is flat as though he is lifting it upwards.
