Camera mount for bike

I know they must exist- but not over on this side of the pond.

I have a camera- and a lightweight Video camera- and I want to be able to fit it on my bike. There must be an adaptor sold by someone to fit a camera to the bars of a bike- but Who? And where?

There was a Helmet mount available but they are no longer stocked by the two online stores that used to sell them due to Them breaking. Couple of claims put in for lost cameras- and the shops no longer stock them.

So any got any leads on where I can get one?

stapfam,

These folks have some very high end stuff for the video industry and probably have something that can be adapted......for a price.

These clamps are versatile and can probably can be found in the UK...........but weigh almost a pound.

Here is something else that may be more like what you are looking for......

This is certainly a clever and inexpensive mount......

This can be easier than you think. All you need is an extra one of those handlebar mounts for a Heart Rate Monitor. The threaded hole in the bottom of the camera is a pretty standard thread so you simply go to the hardware store and find a bolt, with the correct thread pattern, long enough to go through the HR monitor mount and still have enough left over to thread into the camera. Drill a hole through the bottom of the HR monitor mount and push the bolt through. Tighten to taste and you are in business. I used a similar method to mount binoculars to a tee bar mono pod I made for some 20X80s.

Those clamps are easy to use, though I wouldn't advise attaching them to carbon. With the addition of a magic arm
https://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/cont....y=9&Go=submit

you could pretty much position the camera anywhere you wanted, including revers shots of yourself riding.

Consider the Ultrapod products. I have an Ultrapod (standard) which works well as a very portable mini tripod, and could attach to bars or stems with the included velcro strap. It would not be so good for a heavy camera and rough roads, as it is pretty lightweight.

You want cheap? This one is made from a reflector mount like you'll find on any new bicycle. Get them for free from the trash can at any LBS.

I made one and it works OK, if a little shaky.

Stapfam,

I use a Cannon Power Shot A590 on our rides. Got the brainstorm to modify a Cateye headlight mount to hold the camera on the handlebars.
I have a big memory card that will hold a long movie with the camera.
So one day the wife and I do the MUP into Philly. Once home I drop the movie into the computer.
Then tried to watch it on the computer. Gads!!! All sorts of vibration. Then the little course corrections with the handlebars show up in the movie. After watching it for 5 minutes I felt as if I were getting motion sickness.
It taught me how much vibration is dampened out by the seat and one's spine.

Problem was that wind moved the branch and made the grip slip-Finished up with a video of the ground, but it does have a usefull mounting system and the bolt that I might utilise for a Home modified mount.
