Sunday. Local cx race in Wallingford, CT. Masters 60+ Cat 1-4 (I'm a 4). I placed 11th out of 14, which for me is good. I'm usually last. This was a great day as I recently had my right knee operated on.

can take a long time to recover - and then for me (too often) just in time for the next issue

I have been moving from one issue to the next - sometimes it will take weeks / months and then when an area is finally improving another issue (in a different area) will surface

Took a lap around the lake today- just 6 miles but the way I felt after I will be doing more, maybe tomorrow.
Today was perfect, sunny, 70° and very little or no wind.
I saw a roadrunner just off the path. I challenged him to race but he walked into a bush around a tree. I feel like I wasn’t worth his time. 😄

Rode seven miles today.

I wasn't really planning to ride, but I was tasked by my wife to deliver a sweet potato to my daughter 3.5 miles north of us. This was the first time I'd ever ridden a bike with a sweet potato wedged into my water bottle cage.

Did another 6 mile lake lap.
Sunny, 62°, humidity 19% with a 16mph+ north wind. A cool headwind going uphill just isn’t right.
Beautiful day for a ride.

14 miles today. Some of it was on the river trail on the East side of the Red.

Built up promenade off Tache avenue here overlooking the river.
34 f, and light winds for a change. Bit of snowflakes coming down since morning. It all melts on ground contact.
Hoping for a few more riding days like this, or better. We do get a mild snap sometimes in early December.

Decent supper after that ride- Venison Ribs, which we haven't had in ages.

Looking a little tight at the chain stays/seat tube start there.
I tried a 32 on the rear of my Moto, and it was awfully close. Think my bike was designed around skinny tires- 28 still looks crowded. If 25's ever go on sale, I should try.
There's still some Shimano marked cable retainers in the pipe-line yet...
Congrads on the build-up!

Doc Sharptail, there's plenty of room for the 32s, even to the chainstay bridge...They're 700c. On the old 27" rims, 28s had to be deflated to get past the chainstay bridge, and that's no good.
The zip ties are definitely temporary!

The cold and wet finally arrived and kicked off my unreal riding season. I did a Zwift group interval workout today and it was very cool (Zwift Camp Baseline 1). It was 10 x 20 second sprint pulls going from 400 up to 485 W. Not my usual session (which is good) but the group dynamic was excellent. A bit of competitive grrr was just the thing. I'm definitely going to do a race in the future.

Rode another 6 mile loop around the lake. We are having perfect weather- sunny and 65° with very little wind.
I have been going just one lap for a little over a week to start getting some conditioning back after a layoff.
Tomorrow I plan to step it up to 2-3 laps.

Almost 11 miles today at about 16 f .

Found this new addition to a small park on the way home from coffee.
The kids will get a kick out of this, and hopefully it will escape vandalism.

The Assiniboine R. is starting to ice up here.
Glad I went, and I did dress for it.

I thought it was real at first, from about 50 yards, when I first spotted it.
The lack of movement convinced me otherwise.
It would be nice to see more of this being done- get people away from their devices for at least a few moments...

Stayed up for the Las Vegas Formula 1 Grand Prix and watched Verstappen win his 4th World Championship in a row. Some HOT COFFEE down the tube, wore sweat pants, my Alaska Cruise jacket, some long fingered gloves and out the door at 3:07AM with temp a chilly SW FL 50 ℉ on my RANS Recumbent for 20.02 miles. Almost got me another bunny rabbit when it did a U-turn back in front of me.

Got outside today. Rode 18 miles. Forgot how much the colder air wears me out. Up to almost 2,600 miles for the year with 100 hiking and 15 swimming.

That was taken with a mid-70's "speed" lens- O.C. Nikkor 35mm f2, which finds it's way onto the camera with surprising frequency.

Just 8 miles today- a quick coffee in old St. Boniface.
Family in and out today, so ride time reduced a bit.

In Bonnycastle Park.

Along the river trail on the N. side of the Assiniboine. River will be completely iced over in a couple of days, except for strong current spots.

Those paths are starting to look a little slick. We like bike porn, but not hearing about injuries. Be careful out there

Almost time to switch bikes. The Pasela on the rear is actually pretty good in this stuff- no over-spin (yet).
The Connie sport on the front, not so much. No hairy's yet, but I'm still quite far from pushing it.
When it does get to normal winter ice, I'll be on the MTB with it's better suited tires, and much lower gearing.

Hope those tires are studded. Enjoy and observe the directive -- *Stay Vertical*
