Not much riding today, just 22 miles to and from a trailhead, but what a hike--a 12+ mile traverse with 4000'+ of climbing over Mt Kimball on Pusch Ridge in the Catalina Mts, with a car shuttle back to the first trailhead. I got riding an hour before sunrise to finish the 800' road climb to the trailhead by sunrise at 7:00. I got a front row seat for sunrise hitting the south face of the ridge, and saw one coyote and heard a lot more. I got extra credit from the hiking group for cycling to meet them.

Just up-town for coffee and back- about 6 miles. We hit 36 f which is a welcome change.

Christmas display of the Three Wise Men at the old Great West Life (now Canada Life) building on Osborne St. N.

Bike was sort of acting up on the drive side. There may be some grit yet to be removed from the chain. Very messy riding conditions, and I didn't want to press my luck too far. Will get a look at the bike later...

Yes. I rode 25 miles today. First ride in a while due to some ailments and weather.

I was able to get out this morning and ride for 15 miles. My intention was to ride longer but I have my excuses for not riding more. Maybe tomorrow I will wake up earlier.

Rode 12km on bike paths in Calgary at -4C with wind. Bracing but doable. Walkers along pathway with headsets do not hear you.

DId a two-mile walkabout this morning, too nice a day to sit around inside. That felt so good when I came home I ate a lite lunch, took a short nap, then did 14.72 'miles' (according to Strava) to a route on Rouvy half-way around the world.

Felt good too! Been a few days since I got my HR up past 120: 453' elevation, just shy of 50 minutes.

It's not often we get a day this nice this time of year, so I made the most of it. Rode for 18 miles this morning.

Can't tell from (that fin out there!) if it's a shark, or a cetacean? (Nice ride BTW!)

A shark has a vertical tail fin.
A porpoise etc. has a horizontal tail fluke.

Grew up in Ft Rouge area myself, mostly around the River avenue area at first, and then towards Grant Park.
Downtown edge of the West end now, but have lived all over the city.
It's snowing here again....
It's been decades since I was called "young" or pup

Now I've got a trashed cog to mouth off about. First time winter riding has done something like this to me. (and I've done a bit over the years)
Luck, or what?
Some hard piece of road grit got into the chain, and the 6/13/20 cog on the cassette is actually cut up pretty bad.
The Z branded chain actually with-stood that abuse without breaking...

I think it was a dolphin from the nose on his face. Though he was having a good time playing with a stick in the water throwing and chasing it.

I was out again this morning for a 15 mile ride. I decided cutting my ride short would be best as I had other obligations that needed to be taken care of this morning.

12.3 miles yesterday and 12.5 today on the stationary. Wid chills of -5 or so here. Grinding these out for better days ahead.

I kept hemming and hawing this morning due to the wind I was seeing outside. Finally I was able to make a decision, and that was to ride. I rode over to the wellness center and took a yoga class and then continued on with my ride for a total of 15 miles. Not to bad for the very late start and all that indecision.

The procrastination in the morning has to stop. I waited till 9 AM this morning before leaving the house for a ride. I was able to get 21 miles in and I was happy to be out riding. The next time I stopped playing these excuses games I’m gonna have to remind myself. I really want to be out riding.

Got in 19 miles this morning. Near perfect day, which is rare in December.

Wanted to usher in the FULL MOON so got out at 2:04am this morning under cloudy skies that began supplying a constant mist until shortly before 4:01AM when the MOON was FULL. Slowly completed the 24.42 mile ride a little bit wetter than when I began.
