Wife and I did 41 miles on the tandem with a bit of climbing. My travel schedule has our riding reduced to once per week so these weekly jaunts are a bit of a sufferfest, but with the Palm Springs century in February we can't afford to take the winter off. We did stop at the 32 mile point for a good breakfast:), french toast and bacon in my case. Temps started in the upper 40's and probably almost 60 when we finished at noon.

My sweetie and I are going to take our tandem out tomorrow. Temps should start in the upper 40's, end around 50. |

http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=229386http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=229387 Rode 5 miles on the Nishiki, and 7 on the Fuji Grand Tourer I found as a frame only. I'll have to repaint it after spring comes and it's warm enough. The Fuji is a '77, and very light, considering its barn door dimensions. By the way, there was a bottle of cheap champagne wedged in the hollow of that fence post its leaning against.

Beautiful day in Fayette county Georgia yesterday . Temps in upper 50's to low 60's . Rode 11 miles on my Schwinn CrissCross after putting new rubber on . Took on a couple of hills too. Trying to increase my distance a little each week .

I rode 32 mi today on the Schuylkill River Trail near Valley Forge, Pa. This was my longest ride of the year. I am really pleased with how well the "new" bike I picked up in September is working out for me. Last week I put a shorter stem on it, and the fit is just about perfect for me now. With a bike that fits me well, and improved riding technique, I am just about free of the hand numbness which was bothering me so badly during the late spring and early summer. If I continue to improve, I now feel that next year I will be able to tackle some longer rides like a metric century or even a true century.

23 miles today.
|
About 55 miles in 3 hours 50 minutes. Warm weather and damp pavement made for a late season gift. Salt will be spread on the streets soon, that will put the road bike in storage.
|
47 miles with a group of 4 all on fixies. We got done just before the cold front and rains came in.

29.33 miles on the tandem with my sweetie today. Carlisle north to Chelmesford, south through Carlisle to Concord, then back to Carlisle.
Two years ago I snapped this pic: http://users.rcn.com/jimmuller/pics/CranberryBog1.jpg Today we took these: http://users.rcn.com/jimmuller/pics/Sharon_and_bog.jpg http://users.rcn.com/jimmuller/pics/Jim_and_bog.jpg And at the Battlefield Historical Park in Concord, standing on the North Bridge: http://users.rcn.com/jimmuller/pics/...rth_Bridge.jpg |
For some reason I don't ride across the river in MD much, so yesterday I decided to try a route in Montgomery County, starting at Glen Echo Park, riding out to Poolesvile.
http://connect.garmin.com/activity/132688840 Most of it was in residential/parkway areas, but some was in farm country. Not my favorite kind of ride, but it was a beautiful day for it, and there were TONS of other riders out. I never see that many riders where I usually ride out in the Virginia countryside. MD riders represent! |
23 miles....had a good overall average--23 miles in 1 hr 22min, 16.7 mph.
|
10 miles on the badger trail which continues to be a bit soft. Cold and damp and I believe the end of the ouside riding season is upon me.
|
Nice and sunny, so I rode about 30 miles. My water bottle froze -- good thing I didn't get too thirsty.
|
Not today. Last ride was Monday. Probably shouldn't have though as I'm nursing a pinched nerve in shoulder and it's fairly painfull in riding position:mad:. I'll see how I feel come the weekend. I usually ride every Sat/Sun, all year.
|
Woke up & did 14 miles in the rain...but when it's 61°F at 6:00AM on a December 7th in New York, you don't let a little precipitation stop you from getting on the bike!
|
Windy....22+mph. Did my 23 but still managed an overall avg of 16.3mph.
|
10 miles, fighting hills, winds, 30 temps. And still had fun doing it.
|
Two short rides: 7:00AM 28* 14-miler on the fixie over mild-to-medium rollers with a 15-20 mph crosswind for coffee and a pastry, then a 12:00PM 35* 20 miler on the mountain bike with a 15-20 mph tailwind then headwind to feed my friends dogs. The coffee ride started as the ride to feed the dogs, but the pastry went to my head and I got lost looking at the thunderheads to the north. When they failed to deliver I decided to take a rural route later on. No rain all day, but the sky was incredible and the air was extra clean. Just another beatiful day in corn country.

I couldn't get out the past two days, final week in college and the weather here in New England took a turn for the worse. Expecting three inches of rain overnight, maybe a little snow mixed in. On another not, tomorrow is my 56th birthday, maybe I can find a few hours to get out.
|
23 miles today in windy cold weather.
|
8 miles this evening after work. 37F but dry and dark.
|
The weather here in Florida has been fantastic for the past few weeks. Unfortunately, I'm still nursing my back injury from a bicycle collision that happened two weeks ago and haven't seen my bikes since then. The back is getting better, but I think it's going to be another week before I see myself back in the saddle.
Enjoy your rides, all. |
45+ miles with a snake bite flat. Within a mile or so of the house and my eye went to some horses approaching me and I hit something in the road and snake bit the tube. I moved all the weight I could to the rear tire and poked on home to change the tube.

23 miles today.
I'm going to have to purposely eat more or eat more caloric meals. This morning I was down to 148 before my ride. Now, at least a 1 or 2 lbs of that is loose skin as I'm 103 lbs lighter than I was in Sept '10, which probably puts me more at 147/146 if I disregard the extra skin. I need to be careful not to lose more or much more. |
I couldn't get out today, finals are next week. I had to meet someone at the college at 1:30 this afternoon. I went to get in my pickup and noticed that was actually kind of mild, (mid 50's) with no wind. I really wanted to just go for a ride, but priotories got in the way. Hopefull it'l be nice enough tomorrow to get in a 30 miler. That will get me over 100 miles for the month. Looking to get in 200 for December. Still on track to make it.
