Got a ride in this afternoon, the temp was 96 when I rode, plenty hot for me. Didn't get a Relative humidity reading for the heat index. Still felt really good riding. Winds from the south were stiff from a thunderstorm east of our area.

Rode 25 miles today in 106-107 degree weather. Total for the month is 600.66 miles and 2808.22 miles for the year so far. Not too bad for a "comfort" bike. I'm not all that fast but I am steady and consistant. Goal for August is 500 miles.

Woohoo! I'm expanding my horizons. This time I went to the Watershed Trail. The route I was going to take fell through when I read the sign "No farm vehicles, motorized cycles or unpowered vehicles", so I had to climb the dreaded Kendal Hill. It gave my low-low gears a workout! Total trip to the Watershed Nature Preserve and back -- 16 miles. The hill made it feel like 20!

I rode 50 miles and almost broke 15 MPH ave. speed, not bad for a man with a SERIOUS HEART CONDITION. I also ride a heavy bent, the tires were under inflated, and the disc brakes were rubbing I'm quite sure.
I did not look for the Pope Lick trestle Goatman today, nor the Zombie Farm. I'm the only one who's knows (and has survived) an encounter with the farm, but I was surprised by the expert media attention our very own Goatmann has received, and here it is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pope_Lick_Monster. It may be too late to catch him, as I hear he's moved out to Montana. |

Rode ten miles this evening - made sure the loop included the only real nearby hill and a loop through a semi-almost-hilly neighborhood.

What started out to be a hilly training ride ended up being social, when I found a fellow who makes most of our shop rides. Friendly, skilled, fast guy who's retired -- and is dealing with sciatica issues interfering with his riding. I caught him on the 3rd hill and bailed on the rest of the ride to pace him on the remainder of the ride. Made a potentially hurtful ride much easier to endure.

12 miles yesterday on the newly revived Giant Rincon .

Perhaps you could add what you know about the Goatman so that Wiki would remove this qualifier: This article needs additional citations for verification.

38.2 miles this morning. The way my energy levels and legs felt, I thought I was going to wimp out and only do 28, but I pushed on and did the full route--avg mph kind of sucked, but I did the 38.

12.2 @ 19.7 this morning before work

20.5 mi @ 12.8 solo and no break. Body still feels good with less than one month riding. Personal life goal of sub six hr 100 mi summer 2014 begining to look possible. Joined "over 50 plusers" on Strava. Just have memorize app steps at end to save ride as I can't see icons in sunlight.

No ride yesterday as the bikes were in the shop getting tuned up. Got in a 30 mile ride this morning on my new ISM Prologue saddle that I bought yesterday. What a great saddle! My sit bones noticed the difference right from the start and were very happy the entire ride. If it wasn't for the heat and humidity, I would have done another 30.

16 miles, running errands, a "utility" kinda ride day! :)

Nice and warm today in the Arizona desert so I got out early. I love ridding in the dark early morning hours. Little traffic, its so quiet and just seems peaceful.

Had a really nice, peaceful ride this afternoon. Temps cooled down to the mid 70's after a strong thunderstorm passed beginning at noon. Lots of close in lightning.

22 rural miles this evening with a NE wind about 15 mph. Only 98 degrees so it was a cool spell.
412 miles for the month of July and 1964 miles YTD. :D |
Got up early this morning and took the long way into work. This is the Tidal Basin in DC at about 6:45am. That's the Jefferson Memorial on the right, hidden by the bloomless cherry blossom tree:

62.5 miles in 3 hours 29 minutes. Now I've done a metric.

Didn't get out till after 10 this morning and the humidity could be cut with a knife. Did 33 miles including a series of hill climbs that jumps my heartrate into the 160's. Went through a bottle of gatorade and two bottles of water a GU and blok stick and still feel wiped.

Did a 30 mile ride this morning in some warm and muggy weather. Today's ride was much slower than normal since I wanted to see how my new ISM saddle would feel on rides with more time in the saddle. It passed, hands down! I have a 30+ mile organized ride tomorrow, riding to the Gulf Beaches.

58 miles on the Des Plaines River Trail in less than 4 hours. 250 miles in the last 7 days, 154miles MTD. Took the T34, with tread-ed Schwalbe Marathon touring tires. The shaded trail was nice, but I still saw 98F and an average temp temperature of 89F.

20.5 mi @ 12.6 mph - kinda slow day - also first real strava input. Just need to deal with handeling phone at begining and end.

Almost the same 16 miles, just on a different bike!
