Rode to work today - slightly cool - briefly- in a short sleeve shirt this AM but that feeling passed. We're heading for some seasonally-warm weather this weekend. 22 miles.

I did my forth ride today on my newly acquired Trek 1200. Not sure how far it was (no computer), maybe 5 miles? I am stronger and faster today than I was on my 3rd ride. I was stronger on my 3rd ride than on my 2nd ride, etc...

Kelly I got 61 miles in total with mile 57 in the rain. Thought I would make it home dry but not so for today. |
35 miles again today. Not much sleep meant that speed was going to be down but I did get the distance in and beat the rain to the parking lot.

Thank you:)
Hope tomorrow, the mechanic said he will let me know tomorrow if the wheel has come in and he will also give it a thorough check over and service. Hope you get your 49 and 50 days in and the weather and creek cooperate for you. I should get out of bed early this summer and ride everyday seriously. Yayy got Sunshine back today:thumb: Wheel still hadnt come in, reckon the Supplier didnt have it in stock so they put one of their own wheels on which in a way has saved me the £20 I paid for it which I asked the Lead Mechanic could I put that towards a new set of brakes instead which he said was ok. They put a new set of brake levers on today as I totally bent mine when I fell the other week and the bike feels good and nippy now. Tho he did say the wheel would do till the bike fell apart in a month, hope he was only joking!!!;) |

20 miles on the road this day. Hot, humid and breezy and I was tired out from watching Stapfam ride up a hill.

50 days straight, wow, unbelievable just unbelievable. I checked the logs and I hit 1137 for the year also. When I started in September 2011 I was doing well to get 2 miles a day, 4-5 days a week, some weeks were 3-4 days. 50+ forum has been a very big part of my cycling and all this has done for me in regaining my health and losing 50+ lbs in 10 months. Thanks everyone.
Glad that you got Sunshine back Apollo. Bill |
I rode today after work and it did indeed feel better then yesterday. I will rest tomorrow. My cardio system is wanting me to to do more, but my legs are still kinda noodley.
|
45 miles this morn. I was seriously thinking of bailing at 33 miles, but I pushed on and did 45.

Excellent 48 mile ride today. Shooting for 62 but Mother Nature decided otherwise.

Yup, and today is my second day out since 25 years ago. Yesterday, I wobbled, but did not fall. Today it was almost as if I never had stopped. I am thrilled to be back in the saddle.

What BM said. +100 to anyone and everyone who gets back in the saddle! Or maybe I should say "on the saddle".

Good job, Basset, glad to have you back on the bike. Best wishes for many, many rides and lots of fun miles for you.
I had a great ride today, did some new route exploring while it was comfortable weather after the mid-day thunderstorms came through. Actually at 77° when I got started at 1520 and only 85 at the most, felt very good. Found a nice addition to use some so it was worth the few miles it took. Bill |

Skipped work today to ride the inaugural OC4 Cyclosportif sponsored by our local college. Today was the first of 3 days, 40 miles from the Salmon Arm campus to the Vernon campus. |
Zip today and only five miles yesterday evening. Started with an easy ride around the neighborhood and ended with racing a slow train pulling loaded coal cars from one crossing to the next about a mile away. Didn't feel like waiting for the train to clear the crossing I was waiting at so turned around and raced the train on a road parallel to the tracks to the next side street/crossing. I gave it a fair headstart and beat it across the tracks before the signals started flashing. Woo-hoo! (Slow train coming......that's a Dylan song?)

35 miles this morning. 35.....windy....miles.

Couldn't ride yesterday because of thyroid surgery. Checked with surgeon before I was put under when I could ride and was told today would be fine providing I was not on road bike. Just got back from a relaxing 26 miler on the grocery grabber.

had a nice 16 mile ride this morning with my wife along the Barnegat Bay and the Toms River. great morning to be out!

Yes, I rode today, my first ride on my new Raleigh Route 4.0. Since I practiced the last two days on my Vintage Schwinn Traveler, I was ready to hit the beach bike trail. It is about 10 miles round trip with some mild elevation spots and 3 bridges to cross. I couldn't believe how effortless riding the Raleigh is, and I like sitting up right, rather than hunching over. This is my first Ladies bike because in the past, I always would ride whatever was a hand me down, first the racer that one of my customers sold me cheaply, and I forgot the brand of that bike, and then Dad's. I felt like Mary Poppins, and I didn't think I would go as far as I did, but the riding was so easy and fun, the path was not that busy yet, and the weather was fantastic. Looking forward to a repeat tomorrow.
