Got out hoping for 55 miles but the group dropped me today so only 28. After setting a PR in the Space Coast Half Marathon on Sunday there was only so many 29mph bridges I could do and hold the 26mph they were riding at. I'm feeling pretty good right now but this AM I was hurting more 2 days out from the HM than 2 days out from the IM a month ago.
A run and swim tomorrow morning then 60 miles on the bike on Thursday with younger and faster guys. |
Beautiful day here in Florida. Temps in the upper 60's to mid 70's for today's ride. Wind behaved itself and stayed around 6-7 mph. With the exception of some occasional gusts it made for a very nice 35 mile ride.

Rode a little longer than I had planned but what the heck. Never saw the sun but otherwise pretty decent day to be on the bike. 55 miles at my typical 17 mph solo with 2200 ft of climbing.

40 miles this afternoon.
|
20 miles riding to and from work today. Appreciate December days that are suitable for cycling. Looking forward :( to cold and snow coming in a couple of days.

It got up in the mid 70's here yesterday, other than a gusty SSW wind it was a flawless day, took a 25 mile ride in the afternoon. Humidity is headed back in to our normal range, 87% when I rode and it is 100% this morning, dense fog everywhere. The front hits here Friday or Saturday and we return to the normal temps for early December.

Cut my ride short today due to my left knee starting to bother me. Only 23 miles but I'd rather cut the ride short today rather than miss my upcoming charity ride this Saturday.
|
No, not today. 8" of fresh snow this morning. This one from yesterday might be the last in a while:

51 miles today, starting temp, 36 degrees, end temp. 45 degrees

Got in 15.13 miles this afternoon, after the rain passed through. Still unseasonably warm, 75°F again when I was out, the humidity stayed close to 100% all day, also. I watched an MV-22 Osprey on final approach to NAS Pensacola as I was finishing up, really fascinating aircraft to see and watch. The car behind me actually stopped and watched as he banked around for the in bound approach leg.

How do you guys find the time to ride on workdays? I can't manage that very often. By the time I get home from work I'm lucky to have dinner, spend an hour at the gym, then go to bed.

9 miles today, outdoors, foggy but nice (Today) Really cold weather coming in tomorrow.

This AM, I did 45 minutes on the trainer. Tomorrow, I plan to ride on the roads. |
Jim,
I get to ride during the afternoons as I go in to work at our construction firm early, I am one of the owners so I can set my schedule. I am still technically under the surgeon's care so I am not released for heavy lifting or bending for long periods so I am not assigned to a job site, per se. I work at home a lot in the afternoons and at night when I need to. No gym work here, just riding. I am fortunate to be able to do this. Bill |
Great 35 mile ride this morning. Perfect weather made it even better. Hoping for the same weather for this weekend as I have a charity ride along the beaches on Saturday morning.
|
I'm currently riding a stool in front of a computer monitor. (And it's raining.)
|
No, but I rode yesterday and the day before. Both days, I forgot my helmet and didn't realize it until well into the ride. Better be more mindful of that. This is a new thing with me.
|
I wish you a speedy recovery. The 6-8 week recovery time will zoom by, and you'll be back in the saddle.
|
30 easy miles today. Probably 45 or so at the start, 50 at the finish.

I'm new to the forum. I'm 59 and I bought a Trek Madone 3.1 a year a go and I love it. Had to stop for 3 months last summer to recover from an injury (torn achilles) but I've been riding almost every day. I commute to work (4.3miles, 665') and I tend to push myself very hard. I also bought a MTB: Trek Superfly 29" ALU 100 and ride that as well. I did my usual pump up to work then floated down the hill to home today.

12/03 was able to get in 102 miles in 24 mph winds. Testing out the set up for 1100 mile Credit Card tour in March 2014. http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=354013 Also completed The Century a Month to ear a free club jersey. http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/h...mileamonth.png |
Took a ride just ahead of a shower yesterday, it began falling as I pulled into our driveway. Humidity is still up in the 90%+ range, it will stay there until the front comes through, on Friday evening the NWS is saying now. 25.10 miles with gusty winds out of the south, just tucked down on the hoods and drops and kept pedaling.
