Got in 29 miles yesterday with a few thousand feet of climbing. I don't know how I can be so busy in retirement, but I'm only riding every 2-3 days so I try to get in 30+ miles when I do ride.

12.3 miles @ 19.6 ave this morning before work.
|
Not yet but I'm going to at least if I get off of the computer. I've broken 500 miles for the year reach means I've got the makings of a C year coming along. A c year is 1500 miles. Less than that can be lived with but not worth reporting. To move up I've got to go in increments of 250 miles with 3000 being an A year.

16.8 miles this morning on a rushed ride. I had appointment so I didn't do the 20 miler like I wanted. I'm off the rest of the week so I plan on doing at least thirty tomorrow and twenty each day after. Starting to like this biking thing !!

http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=387761 http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=387758 Sunday (6/15) I took the black Allez for a 7 mile walk. Got to the end of the bike path and discovered a large chunk of rubber missing from the rear tire I recently purchased on ebay. 118 miles and shredded. Got my money back. Only 8 miles that day.
http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=387770 Tuesday (6/17) I took the Yellow Sirrus (Hybrid) for a walk. A cast-iron-cold-rolled-steel-hard-as-nails goathead sticker managed to work its way through a Bontrager Hard Case Lite tire, through the Mr. Tuffy tire liner, and into the tube. Damned gravity! Fortunately is was only a two mile walk this time to home. Only 12 miles but a total of 1377 since Jan 3. Does anyone make light weight concrete tires? Gravity is a conspiracy perpetrated by the makers of time, space, and traffic lights. |
6 miles yesterday afternoon in between rain showers. 21 slow miles this morning on a ride with my wife.
|
6 miles yesterday evening by myself and 9 this evening on the tandem. First really hot humid day of the year here, I think.
|
52 miles and headwinds, headwinds, headwind.. YUCK!

Headwinds? All the way? You obviously angered the cycling gods. Time to offer an appropriate sacrifice. |

As on most days, 30 miles of commuting. Today was HUMIIIID and hot. Probably almost like down in Flarda.
Tomorrow I will skip the commute. Weather won't be great and I could use the rest. |
12.4 miles @ 19.3 ave this morning before work
|
41 miles with the regular group. Two riders in front of me touched wheels and crashed. Just missed them!
|
Did my 19.5 mile out and back course. On the way back I passed another roadie and he didn't like so he passed me like I was standing still as we went up a hill. I stayed after him and caught him toward the end. Good times !!
|
27 miles.
I headed out at 6:00am due to the heat (avg temp 74.7*F). Right now it feels like 91*. |
21 miles to and from work today. Very hot and humid - how do people stand it here??
|
Yes, I did. It wasn't very productive, I have an hour I can squeeze in before work on weekdays, about 30 minutes in I had a flat, probably 10 min. to change out the tube. I was working on some hill repeats (prepping for a Trail Ridge Road CO. trip later this year).
11.5 mi. @ 1276' of elevation gain, actually half of the miles were going back down the hill. |
A very nice 44 mile ride this morning. Fairly nice temps and some wind to help keep things cool.
|
Planned to do about 20+ miles this afternoon but it was ~90°. I waited until it cooled down a little. Ended up doing a brisk 6 miles in my neighborhood. I live in the hills so everything is UPHILL!
BTW, I'm 70. Used to knock down 50 miles without a thought. Now I'm happy doing 30 miles. verktyg |
Have been busy , staining deck, did 36 Tuesday and will do 35-40 this morning, early, due to temps in the 90's and a good supply of humidity
|
Got in about 35 miles before work, starting before dark to beat the heat. That's some of my favorite riding right there!
The only problem then is I still have to spend the rest of the day at work :( |
My eyes flew open at the normal time this morning with my mind telling me it was time to go ride, (finally in that mode), only to see and hear pouring down rain. Looks like the ride will get put off until after work today. Maybe I can get in more than the usual 10 miles.

12.4 miles @ 19.3 ave

Put in my 19.5 ride. White caps on the bay meant wind. Pretty hot and humid out hopefully some relief tomorrow but this is what you get in the south during the summer.
|
19 miles and glad I wore a helmet. I had a red-winged blackbird nail it x 3! As it's a white helmet I assume they thought that I was a bald eagle which we have locally. I could have taken the helmet off but still would look like a bald eagle.:(
