Cool 52 miles.

12 miles out noticed rear tire down to threads.

It made it for the rest the ride.

Did 40 mi today and yesterday did 40 which included a spin class that I counted as 10 mi. Temps in the 30s both days here in northern Jersey. It's very rideable weather, though, especially with less wind and more sun. Still, I need a warming-up break about every 10-15 mi.

Stuck in with a cold. I hadn't had a cold in years. Weather was beautiful for a ride.... high 40s F, no wind to speak of, sunny sky's too.

I rode ten miles today. Temps in the mid 30's. Ten to fifteen miles is my norm so far. I rode 14 miles yesterday and 20 miles the day before that. Flat to mild hills mixed in all three days.

Rode a 15 mile route this afternoon while our grandson to be took his afternoon nap, we kept him while the kids went to lunch with their friends. Warmed up some as a front is to move through tomorrow and Sunday, hit 58°F and felt nice riding, still have the stiff North winds adding a bit of extra work. Supposed to rain tomorrow so riding will have to be worked in.

43 km today, broken up by a stop at the gym (timing for spin class was messed up, so off to coffee). Then to a bike shop to talk about upgrading to Campagnolo group set - Chorus 11 speed probably. Then more bike riding...:-)
Tomorrow spin class, and maybe a bike ride to and from...lather, rinse, repeat..

With the weather turning cold here in the Washington DC area I've taken to my trainer; glad I spent the extra $300 and bought it along with the bike. I modified a rolling tool tray to carry a smallish monitor and hooked it up to my home theater. It makes the time go faster. Since buying the Trek in late July I've put 1223 road miles and 598 trainer miles on. Add to that my 2300 Elliptic miles and I'm very pleased with this year's fitness goals. A few more days to go!

First open road ride in nearly a month. I felt like a goldfish tossed into Lake Michigan for awhile. Lots of folks on their new bikes out at The Park. Rode along a newbie explaining how to shift and stuff. Darn it, that conversation slowed down my average moving speed. Rainstorm coming in this PM, so back to the trainer I'm afraid.

Did 50 today which includes a hard 17-mi spin class. The class was especially hard because I already had fatigued legs going in. I guess just force of will got me through it. Of course, I signed up for tomorrow morning, too. The day was very mild and sunny, low 50s in the afternoon, with more bikers out than I've seen in some time.

Except for the very crowded park with all the kids and their new bikes, today's ride was a very nice one. 44 miles under overcast skies, temps in the mid 70's and 8-10 mph winds. I was hoping to get in a metric century, last one for the year, but the wife called and plans got changed.

Ten miles today on a rare mild late-December day. Dry, too - no ice/snow/water on the roads. Undoubtedly the last ride of the year.

Really nice Saturday morning ride- 0830 start in the low 40's, but finished 60 degrees or so. Rode 51 miles with about 3500' of climbing. I'll sneak in two more short rides before January 1, but lots of chores to do around the homestead.

I dunno, I love seeing kids out with their new bikes. Way better than getting the latest iPhone. I was surprised to see the teenagers with disc brakes on their new bikes. Wonder if those bikes will ever taste dirt.

Today's six miles was undoubtedly the last ride of the year. Much less mild than yesterday but promised precipitation has not yet arrived.

I started out in the 40's wearing everything I own. Santa Ana winds were predicted but it was just breezy at 7:30. I rode out 10 miles and in about 1 minute made a turn and hit 70+ temps and wind gusts of around 40 - 50mph. Almost got knocked off the bike several times. I turned around before the first climb and returned to the start. After returning about 3 mi. I again hit 40 deg. temps. Of course I had already taken off the vest, arm warmers, plastic under jersey "Performance" plastic bag. So I froze for about 6 miles. But at least I got in a ride. If the winds blow out by tomorrow I will try again.
