Thursday after work 25.2 mi. @ 20.5 mph avg. 3 PR segments on this route.

JimF22003 04-24-15 05:33 AM

Bike-pathin' it 33 miles into the insane wind. Actually half into the wind, and the last half coasting back. Nice!

First century of the year on Saturday. I expect to die.

You won't, but do be careful!

Today was another commute:

rode 17.2 miles @ 19.0 rolling ave yesterday on a lunchtime ride

intransit1217 04-24-15 09:29 AM

Got my 30 yesterday in another hellwind. First time I've actually cussed the entire ride and started to consider things like....getting a ride home...selling all the bikes.... Who invented this roadbike thing that makes you think your really fast and strong when you're really not.
Feh !

So that was yesterday and today I'm planning to drive up to a bike shop to look at Kona product. Seems I'm in a do-dependant relationship with a thing that passive-aggressively manipulates me into loving it.

47 years old and I haven't learned a damn thing.

Oceanblue 04-24-15 02:13 PM

17 miles with my wife today. 5-10 miles an hour winds coming off the ocean. My wife , a former field hockey player, just starting to ride and she is getting better every day.

John_V 04-24-15 04:15 PM

Rained out yesterday but I had an excellent 45 miles this morning. Not much wind today so it was a bit hotter and muggy ride.

jimmuller 04-24-15 06:00 PM

For some reason I don't fully understand my commute home was 3 miles longer than usual.

John_V 04-25-15 11:09 AM

Kind of a whacky ride this morning. Was hoping to do 45 miles but with all that happened, I ended up with 26 instead. Unexpected high winds made the decision to cut it short a litter easier.

h2oxtc 04-26-15 12:41 AM

30 miles today with an hour of pouring rain. :)

John_V 04-26-15 12:48 PM

Wind gusts between 20-25 mph during my 45 mile ride this morning. Only had about 6 miles of tailwinds. Time for a beer! :D

Greybeard712 04-26-15 02:21 PM

Two days of wind and rain, it felt good to get out today. 21 miles of intermittent clouds and sun - and a little wind.

Awesome 42-mile Roswell Mayors Ride which I confess is my second organized ride, ever. Perfect weather, and a great ride once away from the great mass of riders. For once I just rode - no strava, no goal, just riding.

Yes! Rode home on Thursday for 21 miles total.
Rode to and from work Friday, too, for 20 miles total.

48 miles today on a club ride starting and ending in Greencastle, IN. Lots of small to medium hills and lots of flat, too. Very nice.

A run over to the Atlantic just to make sure it was still there. Calm today:

Cut Saturday's century ride short at 54 miles. Cold and steady rain, and it was starting to come down harder. Still haven't done a 100+ mile ride this year.

az_cyclist 04-27-15 08:51 AM

Catching up from the weekend
Saturday 74.0 miles @ 17.4 rolling ave on the club ride (Bull Shifters)
Sunday 30.5 miles @ 18.2 rolling ave on a solo ride

berner 04-27-15 09:14 AM

Mileage has been down this year due to poor road conditions but it is slowly ramping up. Yesterday's club ride came to 38 miles and for some reason even though the area is usually very flat, a bunch of hills have materialized over the winter months. As i began to faulter near the end I was saved by a pastry with lots of pecans and decent coffee at the coffee shop next to Gray's Grist mill in Adamsville. I really needed such high octane to power the long climb out of that community.

John_V 04-27-15 01:26 PM

Another very windy day but not quite as bad as yesterday. 35 miles and did a PB for this route. If there's going to be a lot of wind on this weekends MS150, I'm ready for it.

Oceanblue 04-27-15 07:17 PM

18 miles with temps in the 60's. Perfect weather for riding.

Greybeard712 04-28-15 03:54 PM

Did a 17 mile group ride yesterday up a couple of steep hills. 30mph coming down the other side, with cross traffic at the bottom. Good brakes.

18 bike miles this morning, a little cool at 9AM, long pants and jacket, but this afternoon was so nice (72°) I took the trike out for another 10 miles in shorts & T-shirt. Perfidiously Pooped Pedaling Puppy - with a big :) on my tired face.
