Finally got out for a ride. A lap around the lake showed me these.

The wife and I got out for a 14 mile ride this morning. Probably the best day so far this year for riding. Really pleasant.

We got second winter here, so I'm still on Zwift. Hit a bunch of PRs today, which is satisfying. Looking forward to riding outside but I may actually miss Zwift.

Second winter? Here in Texas we ate on our 3rd or 4th spring.

About 9 miles today.

7 miles to coffee and a 2 or 3 mile detour to get some stuff for supper.

Westminister United, which is actually across the street from the store I sometimes shop at. Photo-bombed by a handi-transit bus of course.

Taking a breather at the back door at home.
I actually flat out sprinted for 2 of those miles. I was really surprised to be able to put the hammer down, and steam for that long. About 45 f here today, so maybe the amicable temperatures have something to do with my sprinting. Either that, or I'm getting back in shape .

Not sure if this brake lever has appeared previously. I took it and the others shown here, today, with the little Canon point and shoot pocket camera.

Haven't posted in a while. Did two twenty milers this week finally having weather that wasn’t either pouring or gale like winds. Regaining fitness and the forecast for next week looks promising in spite of the snow this morning

missinglink 04-11-25 07:25 PM

I got out for a 17 mile solo ride this morning.
The wife went into town for some grocery shopping, so I was able to ride at a faster pace than usual.

I realized today that I haven't been into a town in over 2 months. I'll be going into one Monday morning for a CT scan though.

Cornbiker 04-12-25 05:55 PM

I did 2 indoor sessions earlier this week
https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...fe9fb2fc5b.jpg

Finally got out today. Had a 10-15 MPH headwind for about 25 miles of it. I'm hurting.

Last few days - mixing short rides on my vintage with longer on the ebike.

Seems we're back to late winter weather here in New England. I rode on the Zwift machine today.

50PlusCycling 04-14-25 05:47 AM

35km today before getting a flat. Then I found that I had forgotten to put on my saddle pack on my bike, and had no tube, patch, or pump. It was too early for any bike shops to be open, so I ended up getting a good 5km walk in addition to my abbreviated ride. I'm looking forward to trying again tomorrow.

flatted last summer - and realized I had packed the wrong tube :(

this was in a remote / rural area with limited (or no) cell service - in a long valley with river on one side and mountain n the other side

fortunately we had another spare tube - but not proper size - but at least correct wheel size and limped back on the return ride … (tire would not seat correctly with undersized tube) … 18 miles remaining on the return ride - including a long gentle 10+ mile climb on a pogo stick rear wheel :(

arrived just before 9 pm - and of course on a Sunday all restaurants etc were closed :(

pepperbelly 04-15-25 03:52 PM

We had a perfect day for riding here in Fort Worth. 77°, a few clouds and a gently north breeze which dropped humidity.
I still only did one 6 mile lap at my local lake but that lap isn’t kicking my butt like it did. Starting next week I plan on at least 2 laps or going to a longer trail.

I haven't been in there since my early twenties, and can't remember where the organ is. The brass pipes for it are indeed huge.
I like doing pictures of older churches. This is one of the more ornate exteriors in the city.

A little over 21 miles today, with temps in the mid 40's range again.

Outside the legislature. Snow is finally gone from the grounds.

Down by the Seine R. Water is pretty low for this time of year.

Feeling good about time/distance ratio. Picked right back up to 14mph average. Should hit 15 again after just a week of steady riding. That Conti on front is starting to wear fast. Going to have to do something about it soon.

Wow! Good ride!

SpedFast 04-16-25 05:38 PM

Went for a nite ride last night. 30+ MPH winds but not cold. It was still light went I headed out so I shot a couple of pics before the sun went down. I really miss the short days:cry:
https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...2ee1c62313.jpg
Only did about 30 miles. That wind was brutal and I got my workout thanks to it haha.

By the time I got the camera out, they were running away.

Grocery run today. 16 miles.
Had to use the MTB for all the weight I had to get home. There's a +20 lb smoked picnic shoulder ham in there, and roughly 15 lbs of other stuff.
Wicked headwinds on the way back, 25-30 mph. I had to drop a couple of gears and up cadence to get home. That last 8 miles took over an hour. Aero dynamic, that ride certainly ain't. That bag induces a lot of drag in a head-wind.
On the up-side, there gonna be a nice chow-down here Easter Sunday.:D

I got a windy 10 mile ride in this morning. First ride in a while.
Figured I'd better get it done before the stormy weather arrives overnight.

Doc Sharptail 04-18-25 06:57 PM

Just 6 miles today. We got another cold front, and we're lucky if we broke 38 today.
Had to bundle up. Windy, but I took the moto this time. Sorry, no pics today.

I got out yesterday for a 10 mile bike ride for the first time in about a month. We did some traveling that didn't allow for biking on our way home from FL. Also since arriving home yesterday was the first time that the weather was decent enough for riding. I also got out this morning for a 14 mile bike ride. So hopefully I am able to continue riding like I was in Fl.
