I normally average around 135 bpm but after seeing this, I pushed myself harder and got up to 143 ave for a 25 mile ride. I was hoofing it. You must really push yourself to hit that 183 max. I couldn't even reach 160 and I tried. :thumb:

I *did* ride today. My first evening ride in months. Took my 2-speed pub crawler. Rode 10 miles out to my fave craft brewery for, well, y'know, what does one go to a brewery for? Then went across to the parking lot to the food truck and got a burger for dinner. It was quite good actually. Then 10 miles home for a total of 20.

Got beat by the heat today. Planned on riding 3 x 20 min in the Sweet Spot but I knew after the 1st pull it wasn't happening. Still, hoping to put in 12 hours this week.

Always thankful to post this thread
Rode about 18 miles yesterday before hitting a sharp piece of metal and destroying a tire&tube. Pics before the flat.
https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...dea7c4525.jpeg Peaceful spot https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...3933f2a24.jpeg Deserted state park. I thought that school was out and parks would be crowded. https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...84237f2b7.jpeg Then this morning I had to run errands on my step-thru (on indefinite loan to my daughter) as I am lacking a spare tire for the ebike’s 38mm Barlow Pass. Another flat on a $100 tire/tube combo may have me rethinking René Herse tires. https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...9950a587b.jpeg The 3 year old won’t be in this back seat much longer. I will need the bike back in about a year. |

I likely won't ride Friday, but every Saturday morning at 8 am we meet outside the Press Cafe next to Ft Worth Bike Mart in Clearfork to do a Breakfast Ride. Pace is easy and relaxed; it's a very social ride. Our rides are usually 15-20 miles out, 5 miles back, depending on destination, and who's riding with us. Last week was only 11 miles out and 6 back. If you decide to join us, look for me (front left) and nkfrench (across from me at the table, both of us wearing our teal and black Clear Fork Bicycle Club kit)

I hate to show my ignorance but how do you go out further than you come back?
https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...da2f248f31.png From the start at the green dot, we traveled counterclockwise around the route to the restaurant (the picture) which was 13.5 miles. Then we rode home by a more direct route of only 6 miles (the western part of the route). |
Rode 13.3 miles this morning. One of the more pleasant rides I've had in a while weather wise.
|
Almost 26 miles this morning, sunny, mid-70s to low 80s, negligible wind. Left knee hurt a bit, especially when accelerating from a full stop, but it was fine once I got going.
|
I left the house last night at 8:10pm to be on the road to view the setting sun, the rising FULL MOON and the actual occurrence at 9:07pm for the FULL MOON. Continued the ride but a little over an hour later, being 5 days out from my bicycle crash on Monday morning's ride, my body was telling me to head back home. Ride was the following --
27.72 mi Distance -- 2:27:20 Moving Time -- 0 ft elevation -- 11.3m/h moving average Best thing about the ride is I found a nickel!! |

Finally ran out of excuses and got out today. Rode a 6 mile loop around my local lake.
It was crowded so I only did one lap. It looked like groups were training for a triathlon and another group training for cross country. |
Just did another 13 miler. It was much more humid than yesterday. This weather reminds me of Houston.
I stopped at a couple of garage sales for rest stops. :o |

Yes. 33 miles.

The heat and humidity took a break today so I got out for the usual sixteen mile neighborhood ride.
Cheers, Scott |
Got a break in the heat so did a nice ride through rural NJ and some fancy 'burbs. On one good descent the wind was blowing directly uphill making 40 mph feel like lightspeed. The climb coming out of Califon, NJ was beautiful, it was a skinny winding forest road that made me think of N. California, my buddy said France.

Once again rode the neighborhood loop for sixteen miles. It’s trash day.:)

I agree with your buddy :)
The 3 mile climb out of Califon on Frog Hollow Rd :) was up this lane skinny enough that usually when cars would meet, one car would have to stop to let the other get by. No painted lines at all. It was through a mature forest that gave us shade all the way up. Pics? Riding with my buddy there's No Stopping on Climbs For Any Reason, Pictures Included. |
