Beautiful day, 68F and a little windy with 20mph gusts out of the south. Cruised my neighborhood circuit, ~17 miles.

Wow, what a day! A perfect day on Mt Lemmon and I was able to ride to the true summit at 9,088'. 70 miles and 7,800' of climbing for the day. The road past the ski area is gated off, but it's been plowed and it was mostly rideable, just a few short icy patches I walked through. I had the pleasure of cycling with a young German guy, in town for work, and we have the same first name. Andy is a 46 year old jet engine test specialist, with one day off to play. Because he was on a MTB, soft from a winter of office work, and jet-lagged from the flight over here, we kept the same pace all day. He peeled off on a dirt trail for the final part of his descent. He was surprised at the amount of snow.

A three year old burn scar is in the background. |

Love the Cutthroat! I have that same frame hanging in my office, and I'm getting super excited to build it up for this summer's adventures!

Was able to get out Tuesday and today around the neighborhood circuit, 16 miles. Today is the coldest 48F I’ve ever felt. Geez Louise.

I'm heading out tonight after the SOTUS. Supposed to remain dry and the winds are calm so the temperature shouldn't be a problem and low 40's. Will probably only do a 10-12 miles because I don't want to work up a sweat. Just a nice leisurely ride:love:

Always thankful to post this thread
First dry day in a couple of weeks that coupled with my schedule. Only a dozen miles, but Fri afternoon is not the friendliest on my roads, everyone in a hurry. But Sat morning is what I saved for.

Not today ... but thought I'd share my less-than-professional ride report from the Arrowhead 135 last month: https://bikesbeersstuff.blogspot.com...ltra-year.html
I enjoyed the essay and photos. What an accomplishment. Just my usual paddle around N Queens. https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...8b7c6d8d11.jpg |
Got in some extra miles today. Today's the day I normally meet a small group of seniors at Saguaro NP and ride a couple laps of the 8-mile scenic loop road. As I left the house, my wife told me to look for her on my way home--she was going to head out there after yoga in the park. I was just a mile from home when I got a text that yoga had been cancelled, but she had gotten a flat. She misunderstood the route I normally take and went a different way, so we missed each other. She's perfectly capable of fixing her own flat, but I told her I'd ride back her way just in case. I got there just in time so see her get back on her bike. (So proud of her.) She decided she'd had enough for the day and we rode home together. Total for the day 45 miles, instead of the usual 36.
I had a lot of fun on the bike over the weekend too. On Saturday I rode 20 miles to staff a repair stand for the bike co-op at an event in Oro Valley (at the turn-around point for the "Tour de Cookie"), then 15 miles to the U of A campus for their annual Festival of Books, then 10 miles home. On Sunday I rode back to the Book Fair. I love reading, and I almost had a nerdgasm at that Book Fair. I met some of my favorite authors (Craig Johnson, CJ Box, William Kent Krueger, Luis Alberto Urrea, Thomas Perry) and several new ones. |
Beautiful day, 63F sunny, 10mph wind with 18-20mph gusts from the south. ~24 miles.

Being from the midwest originally, your pics make me feel nostalgic. Really like them :) Thanks for taking the time to put them up.

Full sun, low 50*s, dry pavement. Love it.
https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...da6fb4a26.jpeg The day has been good….but….. https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...758a3dfab.jpeg ….. have I complained about the last 2mi lately? https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...71a81c99c.jpeg The triple gets me up without walking. |
Another Delmarvalous springlike day. Took my Orbea Avant out today, 25 miles. I have a V-O Porteur bar on it now, love the set up on this bike. I put a pair of GK semi-slick, 28mm, on the bike. I like these a lot, really good for multi-surface rides, still pretty good ride on pavement. Bethany Beach had a lot of people on both the boardwalk and the beach. Ocean was like blue tinted glass, we rarely see it like that in March.

Well today's ride was only supposed to be 10 miles as I haven't ridden in two weeks due to traveling back to Michigan, and babysitting the grandkids. The weather was a bit chilly at 38 f degrees, though the skies were partly sunny with low winds. Anyway, I headed out and made what I thought would be a good route. But when I got to the road that would turn me around it had a very long train across it. So I had to change my plan and went to another road which the train was across. I went to another way but got mixed up and thought I was somewhere else, so I back tracked to my original ride and ended up with a 20 mile ride today. So it was a good day!

Rode the Tucson Loop today, 56 mostly flat miles, in freshening wind which helped on the last leg. A geezer group I meet on Tuesdays and Fridays is talking about riding that again tomorrow. If so, I'll do it again, but sucking a wheel at the back of the pack.

Blustery (40 deg F / 26 mph gusts) in Gloucester this afternoon ... don't let that stop you ...

Haven’t been able to get out for the past week and a half due to wind and cold. Sunny and 48 today and thought I’d give it a go. After eight miles I shut it down. The 15mph wind with 25mph gusts got old. The wind has been brutal lately. It’s got such a cold bite to it. Better weather around the corner I’m sure.
Cheers, Scott |
I grabbed the 730 Multitrack that I just built up and rode just shy of 10 miles on the Ohio To Erie Trail. Other than a bit more wind than I expected, the sunny and 60 was great. I would have gone further but the saddle I have on the bike is not working for me.

Rode the electric bike, 20 miles according to my watch. Only burned 1200 cal! Not fair. Was able to ride far without draining all of my energy.
