Rode almost 13 miles this morning. Figured I better get it done before the storms arrive.
The wind is howling from the south with the approaching front line. |

I got out yesterday for a 10 mile bike ride for the first time in about a month. We did some traveling that didn't allow for biking on our way home from FL. Also since arriving home yesterday was the first time that the weather was decent enough for riding. I also got out this morning for a 14 mile bike ride. So hopefully I am able to continue riding like I was in Fl.

A beautiful day for riding, so I went back to one of my favorites. I keep improving this route, finding better alternatives to the busier roads...
and it's getting really nice. 😉 https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...a00e176bdf.jpg https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...a91dea1442.jpg https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...a32f9fe5ec.jpg https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...a75995d489.jpg |
About 7 miles today. Temps still a bit on the low side, and windy.
https://i.imgur.com/16Jdygp.jpg In a small park about 2 miles from home. My cleaning efforts on the bike are starting to show. https://i.imgur.com/QGvKWuB.jpg Still got a bit of de-greasing to do at the fork crown and B/B, but she's getting there. This cold weather system is supposed to move off tomorrow. I'll try and get a ride in, just to get back into the feel of wearing only a light jacket. ;) -D.S. |

I think about 18 miles in total for the day.
Main ride was that last hour before sunset... https://i.imgur.com/1wO7NUX.jpg Down by Omand's Creek at the Assiniboine R. https://i.imgur.com/GDPsXzr.jpg MUP (multi-use-path) in use. https://i.imgur.com/uELlNV2.jpg Crop from image above. I was able to get out and get a 19.8 mile ride today. I was able to get out by 9 am and most of the ride wasn't on the bike path.

Always grateful to post this thread
Nice long sleeve jersey and knickers day. Blue sky, temps in upper 50s.

Thick fog over Cape Ann, Mass. most of the day ... by 4PM, I was able to ride safely in during a short clearing. Hit 4000 miles on the 1971 Raleigh Sports since I saved it from the trash heap almost 2 years ago.

The wife and I got 13.5 miles in this morning. Really nice day.
Saw a coyote cross in front of us at one point, then later a great horned owl flew out of a tree and over the road. |
Yes, I did ride today. An 8 mile XC trail loop in Scottsdale's McDowell Sonoran Preserve - about an hour's ride. I tend to do this ride just around sunset, a few days a week. I need (and love) the exercise.

The wife and I got out for 14.5 miles this morning. A tad windy, but not too bad.
At one point we had a Roadrunner ahead of us. They're pretty common around here. We never could match his speed. :o |
Good push today.

About 22-23 miles today. Kept going off the planned route for pics and coffee, etc.
https://i.imgur.com/A4anwbE.jpg That sign has been there for ages. We used to point it out to each other when we were kids off to camp with Mom and Dad. I imagine it's been restored a time or 6 after all these decades. https://i.imgur.com/UTcjlIV.jpg What I went out for- a new saddle on clearance pricing. It's okay for the first 5 or 6 miles, and then the foam in it collapses and turns into a brick. I'll give a ride or two more to see if my butt will break into it or not. https://i.imgur.com/KKVtq2o.jpg What the new saddle looks like on the bike. This is at the mouth of Sturgeon Creek on the Assiniboine River. https://i.imgur.com/Pmy2KZC.jpg Woodies! :D They were on the endangered list when I was a lot younger. It's always nice seeing them around. https://i.imgur.com/J8DHLu3.jpg Sturgeon Creek again. This was taken about a mile and a half north of the mouth. https://i.imgur.com/3G74uYw.jpg Waters a bit high at the mouth and still coming up. Apparently a lot of spring melt run-off to the far west of us. https://i.imgur.com/d5Yn3SD.jpg A short multi-use path on the way out. It's only about a mile and a half long. The geese don't seem to mind. https://i.imgur.com/s7icttw.jpg Tighter shot of the same location. These geese nest all over the city, any where near where there's a bit of water. Ditches will do in some areas of town. https://i.imgur.com/L4AibS6.jpg Preserved T-33 trainer at the edge of Sturgeon Creek park. Trying to tune-up for a bit of a long ride Saturday a.m., if the weather and finances etc. hold favorably. Haven't done this particular ride since my mid-forties. It can be a longish one depending on the wind. Total return loop is edging on 35-40 miles. We'll see how it goes... -D.S. |

Unless you're riding a different bike on Saturday, I'd be giving that saddle a little more thought. Nothing worse than discomfort when you're in the middle of a long ride. Good luck and enjoy, Smokey
