I am 10% ahead of last year in miles at the end of April, but it doesn't feel like it. I have been getting out more regularly now. The group rides with the local club have been very beneficial. I have a hard 4 weeks coming up then the Fondo.
https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...eafc47a65f.jpg I was in Missouri and got to ride the MKT trail, an offshoot of the Katy Trail. Sadly got a flat and it limited my ride to about 10 miles. |

The wife and I managed to get in a 13 mile ride this morning.
Looks like the weather is heading downhill again for a few days though. Ugh.....:( |

Grateful to post this thread
There are advantages to slowing down my speed, spinning along taking advantage of reduced traffic on Sat AM, smelling the wisteria in bloom, seeing things unseen when focused on ‘fast’.
With early morning temps rising getting out isn’t so tough. https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...9ea82845c.jpeg |

https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...9c5f65f8_k.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...a868ccf0_k.jpg and then just after sunset, down along the Turpentine Trail. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...231952d1_k.jpg |

edit to add - Great early am ride going until torrential downpour put an end to it early. Got 21.35 miles in then had to jump into the pool to dry off. |

Those are on my list. Thanks for the nudge 😃
a number of trails and a neat bit of history in that area - including: Oil Creek State Park Trail - 10 miles Samuel Justus Trail - 7 miles Allegheny River Trail - 30 miles Sandy Creek Trail - - 12 miles and the Butler - Freeport, Armstrong, and Redbank Valley trails are also relatively close https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...d233e2a21.jpeg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...6986cbcab.jpeg |
Just 14 miles Sunday. Did pick up some cheap monofilament fishing line- the opener's up in less than a week :D.
Very strong winds today, and hot for this time of year at almost 76 F. No pics today. I'm winded from those headwinds outbound. It would help if the wind would come to a decision on which way it's gonna blow ;) . Pretty happy with the way the bike is set-up and riding. -D.S. |
15ish miles in L.A. with a climb into Kenneth Hahn Park.

Wife drove to the dentist for an 8:15am appointment and had a tooth extraction = $$$.$$. Total distance 2.2 miles.
During the same time I bicycled to 2 food stores and bought salad, sweet green peas, a banana, some garlic and broccoli florets = $$.$$ plus I also FOUND ON THE GROUND 3 dimes and 1 penny = $0.31 while on the move. :thumb::thumb: Total distance 11.11 miles. |
Sunday was the 5 Boro Bike Tour in NYC. I failed to meet up with john m flores at the start, and that's on me.
Kept an easy going pace all day long, and thought I took more photos but apparently not. I rode to and from the start finish, so put in good long day. On the ride home it was pouring rain for an hour which made feel like an actual badass 😀. https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...1fdd244a79.jpg Start. The lid cover got pulled early, that thing was really hot https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...bcd427a1de.jpg FDR drive, looking funkier than usual https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...d030d427e3.jpg |

Made $0.30 in the past week- a nickel, and a quarter, which I can still spot at 13-15mph. :D It all goes into the pocket slush fund, which usually ends up being a coffee, or a coffee tip. -D.S. |
Lucky if I made 10 miles Monday.
Lot's of short hop trips running around. https://i.imgur.com/utxWZoz.jpg Outside the bank again early morning. Bike looks so lonesome here ;) -D.S. |

Yes. Got in 20 miles before rain and graduations are upon me.

Coming back from back injury, 9.5 miles in sunny, essentially windless, high 60s weather. Great to get back on my bike.

I got out this morning at 8:30am for a 20 mile ride. It is the first day we haven't had rain. Yay!
|
Did a lap around the lake today-6 miles.
We have had a lot of storms and rain the past few days with a lot of flooding. There were several wide spots where water was going across the concrete path. Near the end I found spots where sandy mud from nearby construction was across the path. Me and my bike were filthy. I left my bike on the carrier on the back of my jeep and hosed it off then dried with a microfiber towel. Then I saw I had specks of mud in the vent openings of my helmet. 😄 It was a nice sunny day to ride though. I will be back out there tomorrow. |
