12 casual miles Tuesday afternoon for errands. Incredibly hot, peaking at 104F. I just took it easy and cut through some quiet neighborhoods to avoid much exertion on the heavy errand bike.

Still nursing a stress fracture in my left foot, got some larger, better bike shoes and tried them out on a 25 mile trek to Archer. Feels ok, but not going to push it too much until it is completely healed (4 weeks). Very few folks out today, and supposed to rain later.....

I rode 13 miles today. I got my man card extended for ten years. There was a snake on the MUP and 10 cyclists were paralyzed with fear. I was (pretty) certain the snake wasn’t venomous, so I grabbed it and tossed it into the woods. No one got it on video, darn it. It was cool.

Bikes: More than last week

I did my usual 10 mile ride but started out extra early because of the holiday traffic that will clog up everything later on.

I get that some days. I fight a head wind the entire ride out and by the time I'm heading back, the wind has changed direction and I'm fighting a head wind the entire ride back.

just 10 miles on some paved backroads in NH. We don’t have such fancy things in VT. Then it got to be 90 degrees.

38 mile tandem club ride from Carmel to Dairy Queen in Sheridan and back to Carmel, where most of us ate lunch at an Italian place. Food/fellowship very good but weather Hot and Humid.
Kinda flat, too; don't believe I shifted down onto the little ring.

Went 12.1 miles early this morning to beat the heat. Humidity was 92% when I began although temp. was only mid-70’s. Still dripping wet when I was done. Nice work-out, and then I got to mow the lawn. Do those miles count?

Yes, yesterday's 100 mile ride definitely would have gone better if I'd been on rested legs. But I gladly would've dealt with the tired legs if I could have avoided the 90°F temps/80% humidity, or the desperately-in-need-of-maintenance drivetrain that was creaking/grinding like it was going to explode at any minute all the way from mile 5 to the end! (In addition to being way overdue for a new chain & cassette I'm pretty sure my bottom bracket bearings are toast. Not sure how that happened...)

But yeah, another 100 miles in the books.

Today I'll probably ride all of about 8 miles: Getting my other bike back from the shop. And then I can bring this one in. Ugh.

Rode with a local shop on their annual, 4th of July ride out to a microbrewery/winery in Plant City, yesterday. It wasn't as good as last year's ride but it was fast. Got to the van and added another 10 miles to the ride for a total of 51 miles.

Today's solo ride was an easy 40 mile ride. My legs had a pre-ride conference with me to lay out the ground rules for the ride. They won!

Bikes: Bikes??? Thought this was social media?!?

Got in 25 on the 4th.
Have been riding the vintage bikes for many weeks but switched to a more modern drivetrain today.
Dang, ….those 11/12 cogs are tough on a false flat uphill!
But so fast on the return leg!

Here's what I took. (last year's pic, but unchanged)

Hottest day I've ridden so far this summer. 89°. I never felt overheated, that will come later this summer when the temps will be 95+. Still stopped at three irrigation canals and one State park to soak my jersey and sunsleeves. 50 miles. I still need to drink more water, I took one insulated bottle 1/2 full of frozen water and a small bottle full, frozen solid

26.6 mi @ 11.6 avg and climbed 1,200 ft. Rode w 70 YO neighbor for the first time. I can't keep up with him - wow what difference. But he will be a Great neighbor. I really need someone to challenge me and make me work harder.

24 miles on the Klein mountain bike - out and back ride. Took it easy knowing the next two days I'll put in some decent mileage.

19 mile commuting round trip. The homeward leg was south with a 14 mph north wind. My moving average with 16 mph, much better than my norm.

34,2 mi RT commute. Nice low 70F weather for a changes (as opposed to the 35 mi I did on Tuesday in 95F with high RH). Kind of windy but at my back on the way in, and against me on the way back, which is good by me.

I did 18.3 miles this morning at a very relaxed flower sniffing pace.
A perfect 68 degrees with no humidity, like we had earlier in the week.

Yesterday was going to be a 60 mile ride but the thunderstorms moved in a bit early leaving me with 40 miles. Did another 40 solo miles this morning. Very hot and humid but there was a nice breeze that helped a lot.

Riding helps alleviate my depression, but I didn't ride today because I'm depressed. Woe is me.

Today was my first ride in a few days because of either rainouts or the holiday cookout. I believe I rode one day at the beginning of the week, but forgot to post it.
Anyway my legs were screaming for a ride today, so they got rewarded with a nice 2 hour ride.
