Did a PB on my 6.35 mi. TT. Last year's best was 17.4 mph. Today I did 19.0 mph.

15 miles after work on the ti 'bent. Three small hills. Less than a month till the Hilly Hundred so will be trying to ride as many hills as possible before them.

12 miles Tuesday evening on the freshly tweaked hybrid. Just loafing along at 12 mph, felt good. Ready to try some longer rides again, since the swap to an albatross bar from the flat and riser bars feels better on the aching shoulder.

80 kilometers for Deliveroo in Ghent and got hit by a car...

20 mi - big plans at start and lost motivation early.

Bob Ross 09-12-18 09:43 AM

20 mile easy ride...albeit in the rain :(

Also, got my first flat on the 'cross bike. Jeebus, I had no idea what a PIA these "tubeless-ready" rims were gonna be! Seriously took me 20 minutes just to be able to peel the tire bead away from the rim enough to cram a tire lever in there. fts

Nothing special this last week.
Riding the modern bikes and had a 150 miles in 7 days - 5 rides at an almost consistent 30miles.

Ti got the most miles.

Took the 1989 Cannondale I recently bought for a lunchtime ride at work. About 4 miles out I got a flat tire.
Patched the tube and it then started leaking at the valve core.
So I put a different tube in that fortunately I had brought along.

lesson for the day: don’t use 29 year old innertubes even if they look good when replacing the tires. I had two inexpensive Kenda tires in the garage but was out of skinny tubes. Live and learn. The bike rode nice until the tire got squishy.

Sorry the mo-jo went by-by. :(

I was hoping to get out at midnight but wicked lightning/thunder and frog choking rains delayed until after 3AM. Roads were still moist and some puddles around so I rode the Paramount and just plodded along for 50 miles. Returned home soaking wet due to warm temps and high humidity I showered, ate a bit, aired up the Roubaix and off to join the Thursday group. Finally able to suck wheels I stayed at the back and enjoyed the higher speed with less effort. They pushed it at a couple of spots and despite my extra miles I was pleasantly surprised that I could hang on. I eventually left them at 94 miles and continued on for a total of 110 miles today.

After a few days of inclimate and super humid weather we finally got a somewhat mostly sunny day.
My only exercise was to get the lawn mowed. I hope to have at most 1 or 2 more mows this season.
But, I got in a 100 minute ride today.

canklecat 09-13-18 04:29 PM

35 miles Wednesday night, including a group ride with friends. Very pleasant, 12 mph loafing pace. I'm really liking this albatross bar on the Univega hybrid. Much more comfortable on my shoulder and neck than the flat and riser bars I'd been using.

You got hit by a car? I hope you're OK?

JanMM 09-13-18 08:53 PM

12 miles after work this evening. Three hills.

Bob Ross 09-14-18 06:55 AM

Commuted to work today. There's construction on the MUP I use 3 out of 4 seasons, so I had to take my winter route, which cuts ~1 mile off the total round trip but adds an infuriating 10-15 minutes to each leg. Should wind up w/ >18 total for the day

ctpres 09-14-18 04:13 PM

Wore new shoes on trainer today. Stop adjust, ride adjust on on for 18 mi finally think I can do a road test next. BTW don't buy Shimano ME2 shoes absolutely no ventilation. About like wearing rubber boots. May be good for cold wet weather rides but for sure not in summer.

JanMM 09-14-18 04:39 PM

33 miles this morning on a repeating M-W-F club training ride. Hope to participate regularly next year as a retired guy - happened to take a day off today. Flat farmlands - ignored the little ring.

philbob57 09-14-18 04:51 PM

22 miles in beautiful weather and light wind. Flat land. Testing out a Selle SMP Glider - part of the ride it disappeared, part of the ride it was excruciating.

An old cycling buddy of mine texted me the other day and wanted to know if I wanted go do a ride with him today. He's been off the bike for almost two years so I said, "sure." We had a very nice 25 mile ride together while catching up on missed time. Finished off the morning with a 5 mile solo ride while waiting for the wife to get done with her ride. A great morning all around, even though it was miserably hot and humid.

25 mi fall color ride. Awesome!

bnewberry 09-16-18 12:29 PM

I completed the Leelanua Harvest Tour century yesterday.

Rootman 09-16-18 03:25 PM

I rode 62 miles yesterday, I live about 2/3 of the way up the Arkansas Razorback Greenway in nW Arkansas and I rode to the southern end of it, past the 0 marker and on to the Town Branch trail to the Cato Springs trail all the way out to the Kessler mountain regional park, and then rode back again. I tried this two weeks ago and got 6 miles from home and had to call for a pickup, it got so hot and humid I just gave out.

Yorktown Monument
Road down to the Yorktown battlefield today. Took a look at the monument then home. No rain from Flo yea. 48 miles round trip.

canklecat 09-16-18 05:53 PM

10 miles Saturday night, first ride since Wednesday. Between rain, medical appointments and feeling blah I haven't done much exercising at all the past couple of weeks.

Just a test ride after swapping wheels to compare a wheel with older cassette with another wheel with a newer freewheel. The older cassette definitely feels worn although it doesn't look completely worn out -- it runs noisily and shifts roughly compared with the new freewheel.

Definitely enjoying the new albatross bar in place of the riser and flat bars I'd tried on the hybrid. The albatross bar is much easier on my injured shoulder. I'm staying off the road bike for awhile since the drops aggravate my injured shoulder and neck. I'll continue using the road bike on the indoor trainer.

Yesterday - 24 tandem miles on our usual route from home in the suburbs out to rural areas in Johnson county. And back again. Several areas with rollers.
Today - A 46 mile club ride starting in Greencastle, IN with about a dozen others. Some hills but none terrible. Lots of flat and also rolling roads. Not much traffic.
