Very nice ride. 50 miles at recreational speed (13 MPH average) with a munchy stop. My wife dropped me off at the starting point and met a very good friend of hers. That seemed to give the Seal of Approval to the ride. Temps not as high as anticipated and no rain. And first ride of this distance when I didn't feel like I would need traction for a week. Life is good, at least for now......

Following the faded organized ride route signs is a great way to save money and face by not having to keep up with anybody.

This is the first weekend for several weeks that I am not racing. The good news is that I am volunteering to work at registration for my clubs Pescadero Road race. The other good news is that I am going to a Rock Concert at the ATT Stadium this weekend.

Rocks don't make much noise at all, they just sit there. Sounds boring to me. Just called the police on my cat. He looked at me funny.

I could be but I doubt it. My wife's company is throwing a party for the employees and spouses (20,000) and the bash will feature several rock bands. It is a closely guarded secret. The last time they did this, we had Bob Dillon, the Eagles, Black Eyed Peas and Foo Fighters. Fergie looks as good in person as on TV and in pics. Theoretically, we could have the Who, the Stones, U2, Lady Gaga, Madonna and etc. It really depends on which bands are available. Dillon was good last year but I still could not understand a word he said. I am hoping for U2. That would be rad. THe Stones and the Who would be fabulous but are long shots.

A walk on a tar ball peppered Gulf coast beach yesterday has me thinking about how to go about working toward a car-free lifestyle.
