I went to the bike path near here yesterday.

Mt hood about 30 miles away.

Keep seeing this car in the same place. I bet for at least a year it comes and goes.

looks like a nice ride! I'm curious about the lane markings? does this mean 2 lanes in one direction & one lane in the other direction? wonder why? do they change at diff. areas like up or down hills?

The far left lane is for walkers/runners, etc. There are miles of this path and most of it has the extra lane and most of the foot traffic stays in that lane. Of course there are always knuckleheads who block the path but this is the best path for riding that I have ever been on. You can actually get up to speed for extended periods and there are no road crossings or chances to encounter a car.

We don't have any of that white stuff but most bike paths are plagued by the reeling leash.
This path does have benches where you can take a break and watch people.

There are equestrian trails but I've never seen a horse out there, or horse droppings. I have seen runners on that dirt section. Closer to my house there are a lot of horses and some of the trails take quite a beating from the hooves, especially after a rain.
Here is my mtb on a horse trail which has become a rut.

here we call them bridle paths. they do make good cycling, until they get deep & sometimes too narrow for my pedals

Thanks, and yes sure, provided I'm in town at the time, and I can fit it in around my work, I'll gladly give you a cycle tour covering places you'd like to visit. I'm out and about cycling all the time, ridden over 250 miles in London this week, so I have a pretty good knowledge of the city and finding my way around on 2 wheels. There's been a massive improvement in cycling infrastructure since 1994, which will make cycling loads nicer than when you last visited. At the risk of stating the bleeding obvious I would advice against coming in January of February though, it's bloody orrible here today, cold, wet with 30mph gusts of wind, not ideal cycling weather...I still went out in it though

Not a great photo, but I felt the need to honour this brave cherry tree near Victoria Park in London, for being the first tree blossom and first natural bringer of colour to the concrete jungle I've seen this year. It might only be mid February and today was cold, wet and windy, but this early starter is a harbinger of a longer, warmer days to come....hopefully sooner rather than later.

no problem I had 2 years landscape tech and I still have issues. here is a easy way to tel cherry their bark is pretty distinct. Plus their blossoms are pink and white

Devils Tower

Indian River Inlet, Nice day but wind came up out of the southeast. It made for a chilly ride, but I cut through James Farm Eco and Wildlife Area. 5 mile loop and saw maybe a dozen people, mostly with dogs, and no cyclists. Nice way to spend a couple hours on a mid February day. Recently rattle can spray painted in Smoky Grey.

A 2 wheeled world moment for one.

Here's my smoky pic of a little Devil's tower SE of Yizhou, Guangxi, China. They were burning sugar cane for weeks there as I was riding from Vietnam.
