I don't know if it's a coincidence or not, but the wife said she was going to make a cherry pie for me today.

Bikes: Catrike 559 I own some others but they don't get ridden very much.

Pie is passe'

Immediately after graduating high school I got a surveyor's helper job that even included an expense account for lunch everyday. We had pie after lunch every single day. Now, 53 years later, I tried to plan for pi day by finding a suitable cafe that still serves pie. The best I could come up with is Denny's, Bob Evans or Cracker Barrel. What's up with that?

Last September I planned a ride with another 50+ poster for pie Saturday. We rode to Edwardsville, a traditional town setting with several non-chain eateries. We had to check three different ones before we found one with pie and they only had one kind.

The obvious conclusion is that pie has become passe'. Donuts are getting harder to find too. And people ask why I'm grouchy.

When we were on vacation in Hill Country a few years ago, there was an actual pie shop we visited several times. Can't remember the name of it, but it was filled with pictures of the Bushes.

Bikes: A slate grey mountain bike & a grey road bike

I got my pi ride in early, before it warmed up too much and got muddy, which I didn't have to worry about because the trails were mostly ice & packed snow.

I'm glad I was too lazy to take off the studs.

Went out last eve in search of pie(4 different places)--no pie--well, only apple, coconut custard, and peach--not what I was looking for. This AM, I got a hold of one of the last two Blueberry pies left at the store. Plan to have a piece with dinner after a 30 miler ride. Pictures to follow.

It is possible for me to hit any or all of 3 farm bakeries on my normal metric century. These are all in the middle of nowhere.

No Pics but me and my neighbour Mick were spinning this morning. Upset Mick as On Stats I thrashed him so he bought the coffee and I bought the Pie at the Gym. It was terrible. Prepacked Apple Pie and the pastry was like cardboard and the Apple was a Glutinous mass. I now know why the Pastry was so stiff as the apple stuck to the roof of my mouth and I can still feel it after 2 cups of coffee and the recovery drink.

It's 24 degrees with 30 mhp winds....no bike for me today.

I need to gas up the truck for work tomorrow and I'll probably stop for coffee & donuts while I'm out though.

I must wait until 1:59 and 27 seconds, for perfect pi(e) congruity. Really though, I'll wait till suppertime, and finish off the last of the Dutch Apple pie (heated in microwave) with a scoop of vanilla bean ice-cream.

Went with a couple of friends and bought an apple crumb pie from a local Mennonite shop. Mmmmmmm'mmmm good and it really didn't need the whipped cream I used liberally. No ride, albeit, I moved one of my bikes from the dining room to the den.

Butterscotch Pie!

Not a good day for riding in central NJ: temps in the mid 30's F and winds 15-20 with gusts to 30+ mph. But I wanted pie! My Pi Day pie ride was a 21 miler from my home northeast of Pennington, NJ to the Delaware River at Washington's Crossing and back. I stopped for pie and coffee at a restaurant and pub called Patriot's Crossing at the corner of Washington's Crossing Road (county rt. 546) and River Rd (NJ rt. 29). The had a small selection and I had a tasty piece of butterscotch pie! (Never had that before.)
