Yes! But only if you're a yuppie riding a "fixie" in a city.

I think they're hipsters now. Yuppies were last century.

(But I do think fixie when I see colored tires.)

Bikes: Catrike 559 I own some others but they don't get ridden very much.

Since you're thinking about it enough to ask, I think you should do it. Otherwise you'll always wonder.

The nice thing is that tires are wear items and, whether you like them or not, will eventually have to be replaced anyway.

My Bianchi has celeste everywhere including the tires. I find it doesn't attract fence sitters. People either love it or hate it.

I have an 83 Team Fuji, and if the C&V crowd saw what I've done, they'd belittle me for doing it (stem adapter, stem, anatomic bars, aero levers, a new style cutout saddle for my prostate gland, and clipless pedals) I don't worry what others think about my bike. My wife doesn't like the white saddle, bar tape, and cable housings on a brown bike....She doesn't ride it, but I do.

If YOU like the red tires go for it, after all it is your bike and you need to be happy with it.

The concern I always have with a tire that is any colour except black or grey is that it looks dirty. I guess you could use something like Armor All on the sides so that only the tread looks dirty. I've seen guys with white or yellow tires, that look like crap after about 5 seconds.

Sure, use red tires but change the tape to black. My latest project is a red Trek. It will have all black components, black tape, red frameset and red tires. The saddle may be solid black or red/black mix.
