Anybody else do something stupid while spinning?
Ok, I should have known better. One legged spinning, with emphasis on pulling up. Looks like I pissed off an old, old injury. Tried to get my leg chopped off at the shin in a farming mishap when I was seven. Now a half a century later, it fails. Must have tore it a little while spinning, then a few days later while coaching HS basketball, had a painful pop in the leg while squatting down to talk to the seated team during a timeout. Can't lift my foot/toes up. Doc says tendon (actually 3 words, which I can't recall.) Going for an MRI here in a bit, but looks like surgery shortly. Stupid spinning, but more so, stupid me.

I don't do much spinning but do have an 'arch injury' from a head on collision from years ago...now a reason to not spin so hard if I do choose to do some spinning.

Would rather suffer a devastating injury to my person, than face that kind of wrath.
On the trainer, my most stupid move is to try and retrieve the dropped sweat towel off the floor without unclipping. Happens on an almost daily basis. One would assume I would learn I'm not twenty-something flexible anymore....but no.

I am in complete agreement with Joe, I'd rather have more surgery than do that to our new carpeting. I probably wouldn't be riding any time soon after the beatings began.
Sorry to read about your injury Gif, sounds painful from where I sit. Medial Anterior Ligament sound familiar? Or one of the other Medial Ligaments, possibly? I hope you can get it fixed with arthroscopic work, or some PT would be the optimal outcome, I guess. If its surgery please be careful aftewards, I'll certainly have you in my prayers, adding you to my list right now as a matter of fact. Please keep us posted on what the MRI says.

Too bad about the wife's rug. Maybe you can have the rug repaired... if not replaced.
These posts are useful reminders that pushing too hard or without well thought out planning can be hazardous... even when not cycling outside.

I have almost tipped over several times reaching for the remote control... In a former life, it probably would have been a beer, but then again in that life there was no spinning. (In heaven there is no beer, either.)

Also if done correctly, one leg workouts really smooths out pedal stroke. It does not work very well on a true spin bike like a lot of gyms use. The flywheel on them tends to smooth out just about any pedaling flaws. However, on a trainer it does help.

I always thought why am I getting on this stupid trainer, then I changed that to I'm stupid to get on this trainer. I stopped using it, now it's not stupid and neither am I.
That's just me, some people love it, more power to them!

I had a spin instructer tell the class "spin with one leg!". So what did I do? Uclipped my foot from the pedal, and spun with one leg. Getting it out was the easy part, getting it back in with out losing the foot, not so easy. MY dear wife on the bike next to me, gave me the "I married an idiot" look.
Good luck, hope you don't need surgery.

I'm just waiting for the thing to heal. No PT for 6 weeks. I meet with the Dr. again in a week. I'm not sure of the time frame after that. I haven't registered for any summer rides yet, just waiting to see how it all goes. That has been difficult.

You have my sympathies.
I had an op to repair ruptured quadricep tendons 17 days ago and am now in a leg brace. No pain now, just going up the wall with boredom as physio won't start until a month from now. Keep away from daytime TV as it will rot your brain! At least it's given me a chance to sort my outstanding paperwork and catch up with my reading.
It will get better. I had a similar injury three years ago following a bike fall and recovery was slow, but I followed the advice of the PT and around 3-4 months later was, nervously, able to start gentle cycling. Now as good as before.

I'm in the tried to pick something up off the floor club.I recently reached for a dumbbell and felt the bike tipping over.My brain sent an image of me on the floor with an exercise bike on top of me.With a long Noooo! I pushed myself back up.That was close!
This story gets better.2 days later I did the same move??? This has me asking Does anyone wear a helmet riding inside?
