Pressure on outside of foot causing numbness

Recently I noticed that about 5 minutes into my ride, there is pressure on the bottom outside of my foot about halfway down. My foot then goes numb but after the ride it goes back to normal. What could be causing this and is there any way to fix it?
Thanks

You probably want to try some wedges between the shoe and the cleat. You put in wedges to make the inner part built up a bit so when pushing down some of the pressure on your foot bottom, which is apparently angled lower on the outside, is also being placed on the inner part of your foot to balance it out. That's what I had done.

You might be excessively supinating, carrying too much weight on outside of the foot. I've been there. If more supportive insoles and foot exercises don't cut it, I suggest seeing a podiatrist or orthopedist who has experience in sports infirmities.

I had this issue and through the years it progressed as Mortons Neuroma. I dont know if you are describing a numbing of the metatarsal area, but it becomes more vulnerable after you lose the padding on the bottom of your feet after your 30's. My countermeasure was to adjust my cant with wedges and move my cleats back.

If I understand your description of your symptom, I might have the same thing. In my case, I was diagnosed with a pinched nerve in my lower back. I'm working on improving my back's strength and flexibility. The longer I keep my back straight while riding, the longer I can keep the pain at bay.
