Fairly common bike that sells for ~50-$150 max around here. Unless you find someone who collects Marlboro items, dont expect to see the high end of that range

$25 was a good deal, especially if it is in good condition. They are not really collectible or anything, but they are pretty cool and nicely made. I had one that I paid $75 for, then sold it for $75 when I got bored with it, so a couple of months of free fun.

Agree that there might be some Tobacco product collectors who would add it to their collection? Just depends on how difficult it becomes for them to find one.
Look at products like Winchester...the older rifles and memorabilia are quite sought after.
Any idea where you could find out the total number of them that were produced? That would tell you something.
$25 is a heck of deal, no matter what, its probably worth that in scrap metal.
Please post a pic when you have it, just curious.

It is my understanding that these bikes were originally only available in exchange for a certain number of cigarette carton box tops. So, you had to be an habitual smoker to get one. I can't help but picture a smoker with his new bike but not enough lung function to pedal it. That's why there are lots of them available in barely-used condition.

I have one, and I did a little research on it. Here's what I found.
It was offered as a premium for smokers of Marlboro cigarettes. You had to pony up $110 cash and 2200 points in Marlboro Miles to get one. To put that in perspective, a pack was worth 5 miles, so what, half a lung?
It is a most interesting design. The seatpost is what keeps the bike together in the rigid state. Remove the seatpost, and now you can unfold. And you need the seatpost to make it rigid again. There is also a quick-release on the handlebars so you can turn the bars in line/parallel with the frame. Neat.
Parts are mostly low-rent, early Shimano 15-speed, but that doesn't stop enterprising folks from doing drop-bar conversions, STI shifters, etc. Search this forum for details.
I think it's the best bang-for-your-buck folder on the cheap. It's not a lightweight, but is definitely serviceable.
One thought. If you ever need to lock the bike up in a public area, take the saddle and seatpost with you. Since it can't be ridden without one, this might discourage theft.

This is the definitive "cheap classic vintage" on Craigslist around here. There seems to be a billion of them available for around a hundred bucks.

There's alot of smokers out there in the past and probably really nothing to do with all those miles they accumulate from smoking. It just feels funny and heavy with irony that you would be smoking 440 PACKS of cigarettes for like probably a bit over year for those pack a day chain smokers and you are rewarded with EXERCISE equipment?!?!
