Can I remove the V-brake bosses from my Dahon Speed Frame?
Title of the thread says it all really... I'm switching to calliper brakes and want to remove the redundant bosses from the frame. It's difficult to tell whether they are part of the frame or unscrew. What's the story with Dahon frame v-brake bosses?

Ask Thor but I think you can. I have removed the bosses on several bikes. I would plug the remaining holes in case you want to use them later.

I was under the impression that the male threaded part is called a "stud". The female, recessed threaded part (brazed to the chrome moly frame and fork in this case) is a "boss". In this frame the stud may be divorced by un-threading from the boss. The boss is not intended to be removable from the frame or fork. Tell me if I have it wrong?
