These photos were taken in Forest Park in Saint Louis, Missouri a few weeks ago. It was forcast to rain that day but never did, so I was able to take pictures without needing to dodge trail traffic.
The Jewel Box, an art-deco greenhouse/conservatory:

The bandstand in front of the Saint Louis Municipal, or "Muny", Opera (not visible in picture):

My favorite "natural" areas of the park are the recently created sections of wetland and savannah:

Other pictures from that ride are attached.

Mini125RD Max Speed maiden trip at Milano Venezia Fixed 2009
Finally I have a poodle story.
I went to the Milan to Venice fixed bike randonnee with my Mini125RD Max Speed prototype.
This randonee is in two stages, Milan to Peschiera and Peschiera to Venice. I took part only to the second stage (Peschiera to Venice).
This randonee is intended only for fixed bikes (link Translation https://www.ciclistica.it/content/mil...zia-fissa-2009
https://babelfish.yahoo.com/translate...rUrl=Translate )
I know the organizers. They are a couple of bike shops in Milan, Italy, they both deal with folding bikes and fixies.
The idea was to check out if the Mini125RD properly geared was capable to ride above 30 kmh for a sustained time. In the same time I intended having fun, to reach Venice and shoot a lot of pictures.
It turned out that the bike can cruise at 30kmh fairly easily, but I broke the rear wheel after 70 km of the 160 km total. I knew that wheel was fast but weak. I forgot my replacement wheel in my car and I had to walk to the train station and go home. Since it was early in the ride, by then I didn’t shoot yet any pic. Basically I have only the pic at the small village where I stopped. I might get some other pics from the other people later on.
Some of those fixies were really beautiful!
The wheels that I used were Matter Wheels 110mm hollow core 85A. I wanted to see if the hollow core survived such a task. It didn’t. The EMT core would have survived for sure, but I forgot the wheel in the car.
It turns out that the bike fits into a potato sack. I then attached the bundle to my rucksack. It still could be trolled around.
When we were at the bike shop back in Milan, we tested carrying around the bike with several messenger bags. It does fit bundled with a messenger bag. I’ll experiment this in the future.

Not so much a pootle, but on Friday I strapped a small DMC-FT1 digicam to my handlebars ( Moulton TSR-30 ) and made a short video of the last leg of my 11 mile cycle to work.
I wanted to record this as come October I will be moving across the pond and cycling on the wrong side of the road in Sonoma.
There is no anti-vibration other than the Moulton suspension which seems to smooth out all but the worst bits of road vibration Cycling to work on a Moulton (90MB)

Excellent. Really enjoyed it even if it did take forever to download. I thought it was current (July) and while I instantly recognised it as Scottish scenery, I couldn't work out why not all the trees were in leaf until I checked back and saw the March time stamp.
You were fairly motoring along there at times IslandHopper.

There are some great pictures in this thread here. Wonderfully varied uses of the ubiquitous two wheeler idea.
I never stopped in that Dalwhinnie pass area on my trips to the far north up the A9. I used to go through there thirty years ago in winter to get to the Cairngorm ski area.... It always looked at that time of year like the kind of place the government might have tested hydrogen bombs - bleak in the extreme, almost Martian.

Here I got some action pics of the Milan to Venice 2009 ride (more will come).
I have posted a ride report here : https://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=565738
That day I was in a Maiden Trip situation both for the bike and for the route.
All in all if I tune up a little bit the setup , the Mini125RD Max Speed can easily handle it

Here's a shot of my Reach on the Grant's Trail MUP in Saint Louis County, Missouri USA. The trail passes the Clydesdale pasture of Grant's Farm.

I don't know how old these horses are, but I'm sure they're nowhere near full grown. I've seen others here at least a foot taller at the shoulder!

After a stop at Bfold for some adjustments on my Mezzo, I chose to pootle around Manhattan. It was a beautiful day! "If only I had my camera with me." I thought. Then, eureka! I remembered my seldom used cell phone camera. Here are the results.
These photos were taken on the lower section of the path. That is Jersey City in the background across the river. The Statue of Liberty is a speck on the horizon of the last image.

Yes, they are the GC3 grips. Kind macho looking, aren't they? Aye Toro! They had them in stock at Bfold so I asked David to install them when I bought the bike. On a longer ride they do offer some relief with alternate hand positions.

That's what I'm hoping - just ordered a pair for my Curve SL. If not too much trouble, could you post some more photos of your handlebar set-up? Hard to find pictures of the grips actually installed on a bike.

A 18 mile each way business trip commute yesterday ( furthest I've been on the Brompton S6E-X ) while trying to work off a week of hotel food.
Spokane to Liberty Lake along the very pleasant Centennial Trail, which mostly runs along side the river.
On the way out, I was in a bit of a rush and half an hour late, so I intended to take more pictures on the way back, but it was grey and raining.
Also like to thank TSA for not closing the hard case properly and then for United Denver/Spokane for dropping the case - the lid no longer sits flush :-(

Yesterday, I rode my new Curve SL about 40 Kilometers from Yokohama to Tokyo (Haneda Airport) and back. A nice ride, but I developed an annoying creak from seatpost towards the end. Hope I can fix that today. Anyway, I have a few shots to share:

Velodrome in Kawasaki, for keirin racing. Must check this out someday!

I was very surprised to find a small beach along the Tama River. Directly across from Haneda Airport!

Heading home along the Tama River. Fuji-san can be seen (barely) to the left.

Just got back from a quick trip to Glen Arbor, Michigan. Managed to pack both the Swift and the camera. And, was lucky to cram in a last minute pootle from the family cottage to the Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes.

The Dunes in the distance.

Impossibly idyllic rural roads

Possibly the most beautiful barn ever...

Pootletacular

The Barn and its churren

Almost there...the people...they look like little ants!

County road

The Swift at rest in the face of the dune

From the top...barn in the distance...
Excited to join the pootle club!

Round trip along the east side of SF Bay, mostly along the water. (Emeryville to Richmong and back, about 30miles round trip). Weather was great and the TSR performed almost perfectly (recently it developed a squeak in the front suspension dumpers, need to clean it up).
This picture is from Richmond. In the background you can see the Energy Challenger backing off with the help of tugboats.
More Energy Challenger pictures here (not mine):

When I was in high school my dream was to have a career on merchant ships but life took me in a different direction. ;-)

I like to go on a ride to a small town called brechin, in early february. A kind of tradition. Google earth says its 10 miles.
leaving my village

At Rescobie Loch, about 2 miles

at the top of Turin hill. folders hiding away

about half way there. the bushes and tree had been thrashed by some kind of flail machine

A path that is a bit too rough stuff for my folder. I have taken my Blue Falcon along there. got stuck.

a quarry thats filled up with water.

the narrow stone bridge over the river South Esk

Brechin at last

going across the bridge to the cemetry

theyve cut down a big tree. so my bikes leaning on the stump

GRR It only lets 10 photos per post, and it didnt copy the others when I highlighted them

folder beside the bridge.

fence beside the River Esk, with the other bridge in the distance

the bridge at Farnell, a village a couple of miles further on. They used to restore old Jaguar cars there. Would see a Jag in front of most of the houses.

Rossie moor. a couple of miles further on

Kinnel Church. Looks like they need money for the church roof.

Kinnel bridge
I biked to froickheim. seen a fire engine with flashing lights. I followed it

I seen a fireman with a blue thing in his hands. I thought it was a bucket. I went away and seen another man with a blue bag with a takeaway meal in it. So maybe the fireman was rushing home before his curry got cold.
I went to the pub. I showed the barmaid the pic. She says that those white houses are a rough area. And theres often fire and police being called there.
I left there around 7pm. I fitted my lights. But the front was a bit dim. So I tried to angle the light. But it broke off the bracket. I put the bike on the pavement. Found the bit. Then looked at the bike. The rear light had snapped off its bracket. I picked it up and smashed it. I walked home the 5 miles. It was really dark, and the road was busy for a sunday night.
