It seems when I take a long time to read a thread and compose a message (say 15 minutes) in the post quick reply box I get this nonsensical error message after I push the post button:
Cantpost.JPG
I just log-in, read subscribed threads and respond and that get's me this message. The back button does not get me the text I wrote nor does it let me post any thing till I go back to the user control panel and reopen the thread.
FWIW I am using FireFox.

Clear your cache, cookies, and log back in. Check remember me, if you haven't been doing so. Usually, though, it's a cookie issue when this happens.

Could you give me information on how to clear BikeForums cookies on Windows XP - Firefox? I really don't want to mess with anything else as auto login is working on all the other sites I visit. It's just BikeForums that is being a major pain in the rear.

Out of curiosity what is "Remember me" supposed to do? It does not work like I expect (i.e. with Bikely.com I never have to log in, here I have to log in each and every time I open a web page.)
Today I was asked to enter my password pre-posting and post-posting so I cleared the cookies again. Is this as designed?

I’m having trouble with my profile picture (aka Avatar). About a week ago the picture I had had for a couple of years just disappeared. I’ve tried, using the user control panel (UCP), to upload a new one. According to the UCP, I now have a “jpg” image loaded but it doesn’t show when I post. Any ideas?

I noticed many avatars disappeared as well. I had to re-upload one myself...

I also tried deleting the current avatar (which shows on the UCP but not when I post) before uploading the new one.
I think the key may be that the avatar shows on the UCP but not when I post -- doesn't that indicate a bug in the software?
I'd appreciate any help.

im having a problem where in long threads (over 100 pages) I will get stuck on a certain page and can go no further. so I will be on page 300 and try to go to 301,302, or the last page and it will reload page 300 I tested this in both the SS/FG forum, and the road forum. Any tips?
As a for instance: In the Kilo TT thread in SS/FG every time I load it it goes to page 300 and no further that thread now shows up to 307 pages and I can not get it past 300 no matter what I want. I have tried firefox and safari, tried logging out and logging back in as well as resetting the cache.

I took a look at your profile and your avatar image was uploaded into your profile picture filepath point and not the avatar filepath. I fixed it for you.

I've tried re-uploading with four different image files, one of which was my old avatar before the crash.
I also tried deleting the current avatar (which shows on the UCP but not when I post) before uploading the new one.
I think the key may be that the avatar shows on the UCP but not when I post -- doesn't that indicate a bug in the software?
I'd appreciate any help.

How many "posts per page" do you have your browser set to?
With mine set at 30 posts per page, I get to post 1 page 252 posted 06-04-07, 08:39 PM
A total of 7493 posts

I recieved my 50cm Mercier Kilo TT today and snapped a bunch of pictures while I was assembling it. There seems to be a lot of information and misinformation scattered about so hopefully the pictures help answer any questions other peoples may have. There's a lot of talk about how cheap the majority of the components are but generally I'm skeptical of peoples opinions so hopefully the pictures let you make your own assesment. Click on the picture for more pictures.
I'm not a bike expert by any means but I do have a manufacturing background. The hubs look fairly rough to me but I'm not afraid to ride them. The stem sure doesnt get any style points but I think its funtional. Crankset seems fine. Pedals are eh. The chain is marked KMC. I've never had a roadbike so I'm not sure about the tires but they seem to be atleast made out of a tire type material. Now the handlebars and the saddle..... it blows my mind that raw materials were harvested from the earth to manufacture these items. I'm planning to replace both.
Front brake is going on tomorrow if i can figure it out. If there is a part you'd like to see, let me know and I'll snap a picture.

I guess I would worry more about seeing every post than the page count.
The last post was posted just this evening. The first post was obviously the thread starter. I see nothing missing.
