Bikes: 1 trek, serotta, rih, de Reus, Pogliaghi and finally a Zieleman! and got a DeRosa

If they're having problems with one account, and they've stated here what they did
(register another account) I don't think anyones going to be banned for that.
Hell, we already look like internet nazi's anyway, that would seal it almost as well as
if I brought the hammers back (ask pitboss bout that).

EivlEvo sorry bout that, that damned routine never occurred to me. damned interwebs can't even
get sarcasm right.

Deathhare, I've spent about an hour going over your profile, post hx etc. and I don't see anything
that looks out of place.
I have no clue as to what's happening but I think Doofo has it right and I'm
headed for the tin foil.

Is the Tommasini incident the same as the Cypress thing or something else?

There are some posters than actually pay for their membership. Does anyone think theyd be happy about an admin here that is doing this or changing people's posts to suit their own opinions?
Not likely.

and a guy who wants to buy a bike for his girlfriend and the inevitable demand for amateur porn would be the cherry on top

?

By the way, it's probably just some database screwiness. I worked at an ISP and we had kooky stuff like this with people's accounts ALL THE TIME. It could be a conspiracy of course, but it could just be a wacky coincidence.

Incorrect. Although it would be tempting to correct your grammar.

Didn't happen. No one changed the meaning of your original post.

Perpetuating a lie doesn't make it true. I deleted the part of his post where he linked to a site that explains how to get around a ban. When he posted again, complaining about this "Censorship", I quoted him, and changed the text within the quote to reflect the truth.

We're certainly not going to have someone post links on how to get around bans. Further, you can quit the whining about censorship. BikeForums.net is an online community, and as such, we're not going to tolerate a few members that think they can post as they please. Moderating is a difficult job because we can't make everyone happy. If you think it's easy, I suggest you get your own domain, hosting, and software, and try it yourself. The other option is to respect the community, its members, and the guidelines. Your choice.

I didnt know that. ^^ I simply needed to see if I had a problem with my acct or not. I know that there is a problem of some kind. It is exactly like what deathhare described. meanwhile I'll delete this new acct now. If I get in trouble for what I did, I'll try to explain it then. If I'm banned, they could ban me for better reasons. But theres not a lot I can do.

Not true. You changed my original text. Then you quoted it. I went back and changed it back because that was not fair at all. why would I make that up? i didnt have a problem with you until you did that.

I'm quite sure that you could have contacted me, rather than creating a new account. And no, you wouldn't be banned for making an account to post that you're having issues.

By the way, does this occur on all pages, or just when you try to post in SS/Fixie?

There is basically no way to use any part of the bike forums under my original user name. It just lags and wont open a single page. For me to even read this thread to figure out what is happening, I must use this new user name. It works fine and normally when I'm logged in this new way.

I only deleted the link and accompanying text. Even I've got boundaries.

What browser are you using? And have you tried clearing your cookies, and logging back in?

OK everyone: is anyone else actually having huge problems with bikeforums.net's sluggishness? I'm having ridicolously slow page refreshes and most of the time I just get blanks, or "server is too busy" (I don't count that as blank although it's as useless).

I'm not saying there's a conspiracy, just let me know if others have experienced this huge fall in responsiveness since yesterday.

Yes, I logged out and tried to log back in. It gives you a message that cookies have been cleared when you log out. Basically there is no way to use my old user name. I don't mind, this one is the same and i can upload my old avatar.. As long as the same problem doesnt mysteriously start happening again.

If my posts are outside of the guidelines then I understand them being deleted and I won't fuss. That has never happened until last night. But if my own words are changed to look like I wrote something I didnt, then that offends me. Nobody here can say that is fair. With that, I'll leave this topic alone. Bye.

Please clear your cookies and try again with the old account first.

Hey, it's true: when I am not logged in, performance is normal! While I am logged in, 50% of the time I get a blank screen and 45% of the time I get the "Server is busy" screen!!!! It's happening! I am reading this very thread in a broswer where I am not logged in, and there things work as fast as they always did! I read there brian's comment about cookies - yes brian, I cleared them.

mmmmm kay. Now magically it works perfectly. No, I didnt clear cookies manually. It works under this username like normal for the fist time since last night. I mean it - I had the exact problem that several of us had. No way to use the forums all day.

Whatever happened has now been undone.

By the way, the "Server busy" message appears just about any time we have to do an IP search.

This is deathhare and im using doofo's acct. for this post.
I cannont use deathhare at all. Its as everyone described earlier but now its worse. I cant log in at all.
If i use doofo...works perfect. If i try to use deathhare on firefox, IE, Safari or Netscape...no go at all. Cookies have nothing to do with this issue BTW. That's pretty obvious.
Its an admin issue.
