Trek Question
Hello all. I'm a brand new member looking for a little bit of assistance.
A little background first. I'm 46 years old and I live in the suburbs of Boston. I was heavily into BMX as a teen in the 80s, predominantly freestyle, and more specifically, flatland. I've recently gotten back into riding a BMX bike, which started by restoring a bike I had as a teen. I soon discovered I still have the bug and only wish I didn't wait 25 years to get back into it.
My older brother passed away about a year ago, and left behind two bicycles. One is a Specialized mountain bike that I am keeping for myself.
The other is a road bike. A Trek 420 Fast Track. It appears to have some aftermarket parts on it, though my knowledge of road bikes is limited at best. I know what one looks like. I've checked a bunch of websites trying to find out more about it, but have found very little. I found the model listed on one site, but nowhere can I find the year that the color was made. It's black and the stickers are gold. That combination is nowhere to be found.
I'm most curious as to how old it is. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it yet, but knowing the year it was built is important to me regardless of whether or not I keep it.
I have a picture of it that I will post shortly. If I try and do it now I'm afraid I'll lose all this text lol.
Any help you can give me is greatly appreciated.

Why not post this down in our classic and vintage forum? We have Trek experts there. The year appears to be mid-90's era.

I'm using my phone, so the computer isn't an issue. I'm not aware of any longstanding Trek dealers. I have no idea where the bike was bought and there's nobody left to answer that question.
There are a few Trek specific data bases that I already checked with no luck, so I was hoping someone here may be more knowledgeable since this is where I found the info on the databases.

Here's a map and list of all the Trek dealers in the Boston area. Find one close to you and s/he can give you lots of info.
