I don't recall much difference while riding except that I do notice the first couple of rides after refreshing my wet lube. There is something about that first ride on a freshly relubed chain.

I go with wet lube because I'm pretty awful about remembering to lube and I don't like to be bothered with it. The wet lube I use is pretty forgiving in longevity department. Plus I like the name of the product. LOL.

Bikes: Catrike 559 I own some others but they don't get ridden very much.

Lots of information around on chain lubes. You can research them until you get tired. What you will find out is there are experienced riders who have very strongly held preferences for conflicting chain maintenance practices. I assume that if they felt they were getting bad results they would change. That tells me there is probably less performance difference than is commonly supposed.

Personally, I'll use anything that is marketed as a commercial bike chain lube. Currently I'm using a product called Chain-L because it is sold by a Bike Forums poster who I respect.

I looked at the site, but chain lube being what it is, I will have to do price comparisons before I buy.

My thinking is, chains are going to wear, and chain lube is chain lube---even the NASA-brand aerospace-incredible $3,000,000 per drop chain lube is only going to do so much to keep the chain alive. Maintenance---frequent cleaning and lubing---is a lot more important. So, I will price it out versus TriFlow and White Lightning, and if it is comparable ...

I will try it out. I vastly prefer to support good people than random people.

So ... thanks very much for the tip, Retro Grouch.

In my experience nothing is better than Boeshield T-9.

Boeshield is my favorite go to lube for a wide range of uses, including everything that requires lube on my bikes.

IMO its a must have lube for cycling........except for chains in extended wet weather.

Bikes: too many bikes from 1967 10s (5x2)Frejus to a Sumitomo Ti/Chorus aluminum 10s (10x2), plus one non-susp mtn bike I use as my commuter

I prefer to eat my cake and have it too. So I drink dry martinis, which, of course, are both wet and dry at the same time.

I ride a lot of dry/dusty trails and I have tried both the dry lube and wet lube. I tried White Ligthening and Finish Line Dry. Both work great and about the same price. The dry lube dies up to a silky film and the dirt doesn't stick as much as when using the wet lube. I tried the Epic Ride wet lube and it stays wet. After my ride, I had a ton of dirt stuck to my chain, cassette, and crank. I had to spend a lot of time cleaning all the grime off. I went back to the dry lube and stuck to it.

I used to use White Lightning on my MTB ... i guess I ought to look at it again. And Chain-L.
