30 Days Of Biking
30 Days of Biking is a pledge to ride your bike every day in April, any distance, any destination, and share your adventures online. Hashtag #30daysofbiking. Make the pledge!
Simply, think of this as a grassroots social media marketing campaign promoting bikes. It was started by a friend here in Minneapolis and has gone global. Check it out, make the pledge, and share the joy of biking with the social media world!
Our Pugs were popular at the 2015 kick off ride in Minneapolis:
Here's the whole crowd that showed up for the kick off ride in the rain and 50F temps, cold but joyful group of cyclists:

This is the official 2016 bikeforums 30 days of biking thread? Good. I did the pledge, bought used rollers, and eliminated excuses. Whups.
Day 1, been sick all weak. 10 minutes on the rollers. In 5, um, rides? this evening. I'm just learning that these are as much of a head game as a bomb workout for me. Stable speed seems to be pulling my HR to 145, and I haven't been in the saddle since October.

I'm not doing the official pledge, but am doing this informally.
I'm going to be visiting a friend for the weekend in two weeks. She's offered to lend me her bike so I can ride around to amuse myself until she gets off work on Friday, but I don't know what I'll do Saturday and Sunday. Maybe I'll borrow her bike and ride it around the block.
Edit: missed day 2.

We have had a cold start to April:
Day 1: cold/windy ride on my Felt
Day 2.1: Short windy ride - tried to get PRs on Strava with the Felt, but the muscles don't perform as well at 30F
Day 2.2: Minneapolis #30DaysOfBiking Kick-Off ride - Temps are still around 30F with 20+ mph winds and gusts over 30 mph. Here are pictures from the GoPro time-laps of the ride

Day 3: Took the Pugsley to Big Willow (nearby park) for some trail fun. Finally warming up, but I over-dressed cause it's been so cold.

April 3: Forced myself to go out and take a short ride, it was a busy day with busier evening to come so I kind of rushed out and did 6.5km in -8C/18F temp with a headwind the whole way (can't figure that out) and under-dressed: I was freezing when I finished but I'm still on track so I'm pleased.

April 4: Stomach upset overnight and into morning, took the day off so I didn't commute to work. I was fine by the afternoon so in the evening, I went for a 8 km ride. Very cool again, and with winds too, -8C/18F but feels like -14C/7F. However, by about 1/2 way through the ride, I felt much better although still cool for the rest of the ride, just not freezing.

Cold one this morning, -17C/1F with a windchill (not accounting for cycling speed) of -24C/-11F. However, this afternoon's ride home will be in much nicer -1C/30F temps with sun too.

I'm doin' it. I had gone for a ride on the 1st and saw some FB posts, so I luckily didn't miss any days.

Today is the first decent day in the Chicago area this month. This past Friday was chilly. Saturday it snowed and didn't get above 40F. Sunday the temp made it up to 70F, but was windier than a Kansas tornado. Yesterday the temp didn't make it above 35F and was very windy yet again. It's definitely been a roller coaster type Spring around here. Granted, I've ridden each day so far, but it certainly hasn't been easy.
IMNSHO, June or September would be better months to choose from for this event, but since I didn't create it or run it, I'll keep my criticisms to myself and participate with a smile.

Here in the Sacramento Valley, it's 69F and very windy. I've ridden every day of April, including Sunday when I literally rode around the block just to keep the streak going.

Mixed bag here lately, snow last week, +21 C on Saturday, 1 C and snow right now. This time of year more often than not there is a 30 kph+ wind, frequently getting to 60 or 70. I'll probably still get at least 1,500 km of riding in this month.

you all are much more dedicated than I. I did ride out a mile to pick up my mail last night, but haven't gotten to bike commute due to meetings, and I'm doing "make up" days for missing the first couple. Not sure I'm going to suck it up and ride when it 20 mph or higher winds either....I'm so tired of the wind.....

I know Regina is likely worse, but that's way Surly made fatbikes! Oh, and to be clear, indoor biking does count. The first year I did this, Patrick had an OTB wreck and spent a few weeks riding a trainer while his jaw recovered.
For day 5, I rode the Kona to Target to pick up The Force Awakens, took the long way to get some hills and miles.

I made a second ride on day 5, half a block from the place I picked up the movie ... I should have known that I need to get some wine on the first trip.
Day 6 - quick ride on the Felt before the rain/sleet/snow comes back. (yuck)
Back to day 2 - local paper posted a fun slideshow of the Minneapolis kickoff ride: 30 Days of Biking begins with massive group ride | Minneapolis & St. Paul | Slideshows | Latest Minneapolis & St. Paul News and Events | Minneapolis City Pages
Including the two of us on the Pugs:
Hypno Toad has the brown Chrome bag and Lisa is in the white helmet on the right side of the pic. I'm glad the photographer got my best side!

I didn’t take note of this challenge until I read this thread on 4/4 on the General Cycling Forum, ”30 Days of Biking”, posted on 3/17 with the first reply on 4/1. Sunday, 4/3, had been a rest day for me, and I have planned on a trip later in April with two non-cycling travel days.
Nonetheless, back in March I had made an intense commitment to near-daily cycling for 90 days. (I'm writing in detail, because this program has totally turned my cycling lifestyle around, if anyone is interested.
