Bikes: Novara Arkham, & buncha old crap I hope to replace soon

What brand has a "V" logo?

Hey, y'all.

I was driving past a guy on a real neat looking road bike yesterday. The styling of the bike caught my eye, but I couldn't get a good look at it.

The logo on the downtube was a "V" with little serifs/wings at the top. Couldn't read any other words or anything as I passed him.

Do any of you know what brand this was? I'd love to check them out on the interwebs if I can find 'em.

there's Viner, but no serifs - older bikes would have stars and crosses

Volagi bikes use a V on the downtube and begin at $5800.

Found it.

I found it.

"Volagi"

I just found a list of all the bike mfgrs in the US and started googling the "V"'s.

Here's the one I saw. Man, just a beautiful bike. I think it was a Kickstarter model.

Well, maybe it's newer than the Kickstarter one. I finally found the more detailed bike listings on their website. Looks like I could pick one up for under 3k. Heck, for that price, I'll get two!

(not really, I'm a well-under 1k bike guy)

Beautiful bikes though.

Those are nice bikes. Worked for a season at an LBS that was one of the first to carry Volagi like 3-4 years ago. We kept two of their models on the floor. Really nice rides. They were one of the first to put disc brakes on road bikes if I remember correctly.

Prognosis negative on the curved seat stays, downtube and toptube.

There is something colloquial about the design, reminds me of one of those Swede or Danish townie bikes. I don't find it attractive at all.

I tend to not like sloped top tube and seatstays either but something about Volagi just clicks. I tend to like classic steel frame geometry the best. No sloping anything on those.

Geez, thanks guys.

The LBS right around the corner has a bunch of Volagi frames hangin' off the wall and it's ALL I CAN DO to resist picking one up as an n+1. I've always had a thing for curved tubes and damn if the Volagi isn't a real head turner. The fact that it's steel only makes the whole idea even more intoxicating.

How am I ever gonna 'splain it to the wife?
