I try to get good-looking, nice-fitting cycling clothes at a reasonable price. I don't do Rapha or Assos, but I probably spend more than I should. Being a frugal poseur, I at least have to look good at a reasonable price.

It's one thing when it's a business/work expense, but another thing when it's for something that is "just a hobby" for most people. I know some people who would be appalled at what I spend on what I wear for field work, or by the $200 keyboards/mice I have for my work computers...but those are for comfort/safety at work more than anything else, and probably more easily justified to a lot of folks.
I personally don't mind spending money on hobbies, so long as what I get isn't crap.

IIRC, they are over $200. Can't answer the question because I have never checked out or worn a pair of boutique. Keep in mind that, for some (not me), there is value in wearing a label.

$220 RRP, "On Sale" at $110.
Dickies carp jeans will last a lot longer and are $25 each.

$100 for a pair of top notch bibs? My butt says it is worth it.

Keep in mind that some of the higher end garments come with crash replacement/repair and trial periods.
As an example, Rapha lets you ride a garment for 30 days and return it for full refund if you don't like it. Their bibs and jerseys come with free lifetime repair service if it is damaged in a crash or "failure has occurred even after significant usage."
That's worth something to me.
