I love old bikes. I love to paint old bikes. I love 2 tone bikes(blue and silver, red and tan, black and silver, green and tan , etc.) People seem to really like the bikes I rehab and paint.

Black is definitely the easiest color to touch up.
Candy, pearl, metal flake is impossible to touch up.

My daughter has about a thousand different colors of nail varnish. Sometimes I can get a fairly close match to a solid color frame.

Maybe it's a gang thing. At the high school I sub at everyone wears grey hoodies and grey everything else. wear colors and you might get shot. I wonder what the gang colors are for bikes?

What about gold, then?

I have to admit the early 70s Lambert/Viscount bikes were controversial at least, but their gold-plated model was stunning.

In the 90s Cannondale made a T1000 model. It was a touring-specific bike. In '99-'00 I put 10,000 loaded miles on my '98 T700. Nice bike except for the subpar wheelset.
