In my experience, the roadies who actually race are unlikely to engage in Cat 6 racing with random people on the road or path. Although I've had a few experiences where I was out doing intervals and some guy thought I was racing him. He never seemed to notice that I'd sit up and softpedal every 3 minutes exactly.
