Hydration help from the 90's

While I was road racing in late 90's I bought a clear liquid product that one added to their hydration drink to help water absortion. Anyone remember what is was/is?

Tim, Glycerol sounds correct. I was wondering if anyone remembered the brand name. I bought it from one of the big bike catalogs of the time......

I purchased some from the pharmacy. They sell it as a laxative.

It was mixed it with water prior to exercise as per some of the articles on the Interwebz in an attempt to find something to help with the Georgia heat. My experience was similar to those of Kevin Ash in post number 6 at UltRunR - Glycerol / Glycerine. Maybe you will have different results.

Was it HydroMax?

The post linked above mentions a product named Glycerate HydroOptimizer. I cannot find it online.

This stuff is a new product that supposedly is made to increase hydration more than ordinary water. I don't know how it works. I failed chemistry so badly it's not even funny.

https://highdrateme.com/

Maybe the premium hydration claim is all hype. I just don't know.

It's made with CBD powder (The next big thing in the food world) so it has pain relieving properties too. I don't know how to test the hydration vs ordinary water but I swear the CBD powder in it helps with muscle aches on a long ride.

I started carrying a bottle of this on my long hot weather rides late last summer. It's a nice treat on a ride.

This time of year I load the bike up with hot coffee though....and I con't care how well is does or does not hydrate me because warm.

careful if you should treat yourself to the HIGHdrate... Federally it is not legal, but your state might be okay with it.

Not anymore.

The Farm Bill that passed a few weeks ago removes the federal restrictions on hemp for food products. They are now only regulated by the FDA, who says it's all good as long as you don't make medicinal claims that have not met FDA approval. For instance you can't say that your hemp beverage cures muscle pain as that is a medical claim. It's the same as how Apple Cider Vinegar sellers can't claim the drink helps with weight loss, even though it very may well

Hemp has been fully removed as a schedule 1 substance (not that it ever should have been)

Here...this is a good run down on the recent changes

https://hempindustrydaily.com/farm-b...derally-legal/

(That's a little pro hemp biased, but the legal facts are sound)
