No... I think your comment is completely backwards. Ahahhaa there's so many things I can say about this but it'll probably get me banned.

All my posts are designed for people with weaknesses for cliched wordplay and innuendo. Reply at your peril.

My question: When was the last time you smelled your saddle?

*snicker*
After reading your profile, I see that scatology is a hobby. So why are you complaining? Or are you complaining?

I think you may be on to a new niche (heheh) market that hasn't been exploited in bicycle marketing. Scratch and sniff seats! Or maybe just seat covers with a layer of activated charcoal in them.

Curse you for making me sniff my seat, my neighbor happened to walk out of her apartment while I was in full snuffle. That was embarassing...

Oh. And my seat hardly has any smell....perhaps a faint odor of leather.

I smelled my (avocet) saddle again this morning (I may be on the way to developing a new habit :B), and it didn't smell as bad as the last time I smelled it... prolly cuz I wasn't fresh off the saddle as I was earlier.

I actually wanted to get some people to smell their saddles. When I was about 18, my sister's ex showed me how you can smell your own boogers (kinda hard to explain in text). It tripped me out, so I showed some of my friends how to do it, then next thing you know, we'd be hanging out smelling our own boogers.

I know, I'm wierd :B

edit: Oh, and this is not a call to go around smelling other peoples saddles... *yuck* lol. Imagine that... "saddle fetishists", like shoe fetishists.

is "fetishists" even a word??? wtf.

Why, yes. Yes it is.

No worries. We're all wierd.
I think you've just started a new sub-culture among cyclists though.

As a bike mechanic we work on alot of bike ridden by all kinds of people. We had one customer(william) that you could smell across the counter. John the mechanic usually got to work on Williams bike.
Once and only once did he lean over to mess with the RD or BB and his face got dangerously close to Williams seat. When he told the rest of us about his experience I had tears, I'm laughing as I type this. From then on Williams bike got a plastic bag on his seat first thing when it came in for any work.

New saddle smell!

A new, Honey coloured Brooks B67 smells like - nothing.

Nada. Bupkis. Not even leather.

Hard as wood.

*** *** ***

K. Add sunlight, heat. Apply Proofide. Rub into leather.

*SNIFF*

...

Smells like... Citronela oil.

DOH!

Well, I guess that's what the Citronela oil in Proofide is for: keeping your saddle from smelling like butt.

As much as I HATE to be serious in such an entertaining thread as this.......

What kind of seat bag is that? It looks nice with the blue on the frame.

I thought your entire bike would be covered with a thin layer of coconut scented suntan lotion by now?
OK now I feel better.

It's a small specialized seat pack, I love specialized packs, I have 3 of em, they're all I use. Only prob is that the damn S emblem keeps ripping into my shorts, I pried them all off.
It's actually all black, I think the blue is some kinda lens artifact from the flash.

Do you have the Giant back? Are you taking the Litespeed to work?
