Yeah, I'm not much for team kit, either, unless I'm on the team, and I'm not on any teams. Your description of cycling kit matches mine. But I don't have any inherent objection to someone wearing a team jersey. I mean, around here you see people wearing Giants, and 49ers, and Warriors paraphernalia, so why no a cycling team you like? Not for me, though.

I have always been a cotton fan and have jerseys with three pockets as standard riding gear for me. It doesn't look the part of the "Billboard" jerseys that a lot of riders wear, and that is OK with me as the fit is comfortable and the fit is a bit looser than spandex. It might be way to keep yourself feeling casual and still have the "kit" your wife desires. I only have one branded jersey and it a wool KAS that is about 40 years old. Every other one is non-branded and a single color with no logos. The shorts I wear are leather chamois style and are my preference and I don't mind wearing just plain black shorts. I don't feel the need to be cheap advertising for products on many different levels, and the clothing is one of them. Smiles, MH

We were always comfortable enough and always had fun . . . except for the last 4 miles up to Cayuse Pass, where she was in tears a bit. My Garmin said 105° at the bottom of the climb.
She puts out about half my watts, and weighs only 10 lbs. less. She has really small lungs but a great heart. She loves the tandem. She gets to do stuff she could never do on her own. I was 69 and she was 66 when we rode RR. If I could have ridden it on my single this year, I would have been #4. Maybe next year!

My wife buys all my regular clothes. Bikes clothes are the only items of clothing that I pick out for myself. She does let me dress myself most of the time though.

There is a Prince that loves horses. He has a huge stable, but wants to have more.
Throughout his lands, there are many fine horses owned by the populace. He wants to add to his stable, so he hatches a plan. It cannot be an outright tax, but there is a way to do it he figures.
He calls for his most trusted servant and says "You are to go throughout the land, and if the man of any household is afraid of his wife, you are to get his finest horse and bring it to my stable." "For your reward, I will allow you to keep one horse of your choosing." The trusted servant then embarks on the mission.
Months go by, and then one day, the Prince sees a giant dust cloud on the horizon, and spots his trusted servant returning with a virtual sea of fine hoses.
The prince is overjoyed, but is also troubled. He cannot believe that there are so many men in his lands who are afraid of their wives.
The trusted servant approaches the Prince, and says, "I have gone throughout the land, and there were many wonderful things." "In one village there was this most beautiful girl with the darkest of eyes, and lips as red as a pomegranate, and............" The Prince interrupts him nervously says, "Keep it down! my wife is right over there!"
The servant then says to the Prince "I will take that one!" as he points to the Prince's finest horse.
Yep.

2 appear to be not touching the ground (the ones with high flange hubs?), so maybe they were spares just being transported?

About as classy as some random stranger on an internet forum ranting about his wife and what she wants him to wear while he goes biking for fear of what some people may think.
Some days I think I've seen it all on BF. Then a thread like this comes along and proves me wrong.

He told me he’s the man and he just tells his kids to shut up when he wants peace and quiet.
He’s had multiple kids from multiple baby mammas and I think he finalized his latest divorce a year ago?
Guess who I don’t take relationship advice from?
